I ran through Hogwarts. Sprinted as fast as I could through its corridors and down its stairs.
"Lyra!" someone called after me.
I didn't stop. I didn't think. I just kept running. Voldemort had my dad. He had attacked my home and people that I cared about. I had to get to him I had to –
"Lyra," the voice came again, this time accompanied by a hand wrapping around my arm, turning me to face them.
I was forced to stop, panting heavily as I tried to catch my breath. Mattheo was struggling to get air too, looking down at me worriedly.
"Riddle, I have to get home," I told him, trying to pull myself away from him.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" he asked, keeping a firm grip on me. "You can't disapparate in Hogwarts and Umbridge has all the fireplace's locked up and on high alert –"
"You can apparate out of here. You've done it before," I tried.
Mattheo shook his head. "I can't," he stated.
Pulling my arm away from him, I felt my anger grow. "And why not?" I asked him.
"It would be against orders," he explained.
"Fuck orders!" I exclaimed, feeling the flame jolting to life in my mind. "Your sick bastard of a father has my dad Riddle, and he just attacked my home! I don't give a shit about your orders! Fucking break them!"
Riddle moved towards me. "I can't Lyra. I physically can't. If I try to apparate and he hasn't told me too or given me permission, I'll be killed."
"And if I don't get to my father right now, he'll be killed!"
Draco came running towards us, leaning onto his knees, panting. "Merlin, you guys are fast," he commented.
I shook my head. "I have to find a way out of here. I'll break the enchantments on the fireplaces, I'll steal a Hippogriff or a Thestral –"
"Those enchantments are Ministry grade. Impossible to penetrate and all of the Magical Creatures are under similar spells on the Grounds. Hardly something a Fifth Year could break."
"Watch me!" I all but screamed, the glass cracking at my outburst.
Mattheo moved back slightly. "Lyra, you have to understand –"
"Understand what?! That you can't help me?" I cut him off.
"He'll kill me if I do something against his wishes," my boyfriend tried.
"He'll kill my father if you don't!"
"Look, we don't even know if You-Know-Who has your father Lyra," Draco entered the conversation, moving in between the two of us.
"But he could," I told him, directing my gaze to my cousin. "And I'm not taking the chance that I might lose him again. I can't –" I cut myself off, sharp pains piercing through my head. I turned away, taking deep breaths to try and calm my anger.
"Lyra, I would get you there right now if I could, but I can't," Riddle told me, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I turned around slowly, nodding my head. "I know, I'm sorry. I just – I – I can't lose him. I just got him back."
Riddle took me by the shoulders and pulled me into a tight hug. I rest my head on his shoulder, burying my face in his neck.
"I know. We'll figure it out," he told me calmly.
