Autumn. The cold, harsh wind of early winter ruffled leaves of myriad colours scattered across the sidewalk of Petalburg City, where Ash could see from the window of his seat in the restaurant he was in.

Tensions were running high in Ash's body. The stress and anticipation of meeting his girlfriend, May again after spending months in Alola. It was making his stomach twist, his hands sweaty and palms slightly clammy.

The raven-haired trainer leaned against his chair while his eyes darted around the restaurant searching for his brunette girlfriend.

Suddenly, a pair of warm hands covered his eyes. A familiar sweet scent invaded his senses along with the soft touch of lips on his cheek.

A warm breath tickled his ear. "Hi Ashy~" His sweetheart purred. He can listen to her voice every day.

Ash grabbed her hands as he turned to face his beloved, whose choice of clothing left him breathless. May was wearing a red and blue chequered flannel jacket, and black leggings showing her slender legs perfectly. Her chestnut hair was falling loosely onto her shoulders and framed her face perfectly. A light blue scarf was wrapped around her neck, her cheeks were visibly rosy and her sapphire eyes were glistening in the dim lighting of the restaurant.

Her smile made him forget everything else. He felt like he never wanted anything more in the world than she did. She was just so perfect and beautiful, and he adored every part of her.

Time seemed to slow down for a couple of moments as both of them drowned in each other's eyes.

Ash got out of his seat quickly, almost stumbling in doing so, and pulled May into his embrace.

"I've missed you," He murmured into her shoulder, inhaling deeply before showing her how much he missed her with a kiss so sweet it sent shivers down her spine.

They eventually separated as Ash pulled a chair for May to sit down.

May was about to say something but Ash already read her mind.

"So, what would you like? You're hungry, right?" He chuckled at his embarrassed girlfriend, knowing exactly what was going through her mind. He knew how much her girlfriend loves food. He would probably have to bribe her with food for a full week to make up for all those days away from her.

May smiled sheepishly but nodded anyway. "Yeah, I am," Ash grinned, getting a waiter to order their meal.

They spent the rest of the meal sharing small talk and enjoying each other's company.

When they got outside, they took a deep breath of the crisp September air.

Holding her hand tightly, Ash asked, "So, where do you want to go now?"

"Well..." May began, "Remember that park?"

It didn't take long until memories of that day began flooding Ash's memory. He remembered the way the wind blew her hair, how beautiful she looked as she stared out over the lake at the trees in the background. Maple leaves were falling around them as he confessed his feelings for her and tasted those plump lips for the first time.

"Of course, I remember." He squeezed May's hand tighter. "What do you have in mind?"

"Let's go there, it's been some time since we last went there," May responded excitedly, leading Ash to walk towards the park.

The couple walked to the very same spot where their love bloomed. Years have gone by yet the place remains just as beautiful as it was.

Maple leaves still danced with the wind, a cool breeze caressing them gently. The sun was setting behind them, painting the sky in pinks and oranges, the colours dancing in the clear water of the lake. Their fingers intertwined, swinging together as they watched the sunset.

Both of them sat underneath a tree with May on Ash's lap as they enjoyed the warm rays. A content silence fell between them as they watched the maple leaves bathed in the sunset, enjoying the peace that settled inside them.

May took one of the many maple leaves on the ground and placed it on her heart. 'Autumn is really a beautiful season isn't it?' she thought, closing her eyes as she lay against Ash's chest.

Shortest entry in a while. Likely one of my worst.

Very tired and lack of ideas really troubled me recently. Might take a short break.
