⠀⠀⠀⠀CHERRY AND SEO-JOON were in their grandfather's office, waiting for him to arrive and further explain the plan. They had been waiting for the man for over five hours. Once they arrived to the building, they were handed green tracksuits with matching jumpers and were instructed to get dressed. Cherry had always hated the color. It never looked nice on anyone, no matter the skin tone. She was assigned to be player 02 while Seo-Joon was player 26. After they got changed, they were directed to the office.
⠀⠀⠀⠀They were obviously pissed at the fact that he made them come so early in the morning just to leave them waiting for that long. It was ridiculous. They could have been spending this time resting before they get thrown into the lion's den. The two flinched when they heard the door creak open. Their necks snapped up to the sound, letting out sighs of relief upon seeing their grandfather and the Front Man enter the room. Cherry stood up with a smile on her face. She was happy to see him after so long.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Grandpa!" She yelled, practically jumping into his opened arms almost making him lose his balance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Aigoooo, my precious grandbaby." He smiled, patting her back. He pulled away to get a good look at her. "It's always so nice to see you! I see you're still keeping your hair short."
⠀⠀⠀⠀"I cut it once and I've never looked back." Cherry nodded before turning her attention towards the Front Man, bowing her head slightly. "Mr. Hwang, nice to see you."
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Ms. Oh." He bowed. "Happy to be working with you again."
⠀⠀⠀⠀She glanced back at Seo-Joon, jumping slightly at the close distance the boy stood behind her as if she was protecting him from big bad monsters. She grabbed his arm and pulled him up to stand next to her. "This is one of my younger siblings, Seo-Joon. Seo-Joon this is Mr. Hwang. We have worked closely over the years. He is a nice man."
⠀⠀⠀⠀Seo-Joon bowed a full 90 degree. "Hello sir."
⠀⠀⠀⠀"I'm so sorry that I'm so late. We had some issues we needed to handle and lost track of time. Take a seat." Their grandfather said, taking a seat behind his desk. Seo-Joon sat in his original seat and Cherry sat on the arm. "You both must've been very surprised that we're doing things differently this year."
⠀⠀⠀⠀The siblings shared a look.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"This year, we are going to be playing the games rather than running things from the outside. Seo-Joon I know it's your first year and you may be nervous but I can promise you that you will be fine. None of us will get hurt. All of the guards know our faces so we will be protected the whole time– not that Cherry needs it."
