⠀⠀⠀⠀ THE PLAYERS WERE back in the room they had originally woke up in. Everyone was scattered around the room, trying to process what the hell had just happened. Seo-Joon and Cherry sat together on her bed. He laid his head on her shoulder, squeezing his eyes shut as his body trembled. She wrapped her arms around his body, whispering that it'll be okay. She knew that the poor boy was traumatized by what he had just witnessed. Who wouldn't be?
⠀⠀⠀⠀ She's been in therapy for years and she still gets nightmares about this place every single night.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Eyebrows furrowing when she felt eyes on her, she looked around over at the bunk beds near her. Her eyes landed on Player 67 who was sitting on a bed, leaning forward with her hands in her lap.The two made eye contact for a few seconds before 67 looked away.
Weird.
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Before she could get up to ask the girl what she was looking at, the door slid open and the guards stepped into the room. The siblings remained seated while everyone else stood to their feet, slowly backing away from the entrance in fear.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Congratulations! You all have made it through the first game." The main guard announced. "I will now reveal the results of the game."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ The lights dimmed slightly and everyone looked up at the screen, gasping when the number on the screen went down to 201.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Out of 456 players, 255 have been eliminated and 201 remain."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Gasps and murmurs were heard around the room. Suddenly a sobbing woman with wild unkept hair, Player 212 gets down on her knees.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Sir, please forgive me! I promise I'll pay off all of my debts! I swear!" She begged, rubbing her hands together. "I have a child! Oh, so young. I need to register and name my baby. Please let me go."
⠀⠀⠀⠀ The people around her followed in the lady's lead, getting down on their hands and knees to beg for freedom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"There seems to be a misunderstanding." The square said. "We're not trying to collect your debts. Let me remind you that we are here to give you a chance–"
