What am I doing?I begin to question. Not saying hi to anyone else, running straight to Josh? Am I mad. It’s happening again. I can feel the redness rising upon my cheeks as the heat settles along the bone. I’m blushing. I think. No, don’t blush, you idiot. They’ll think you like Josh. Do you like Josh? I can’t even get a sentence in to Josh when I decide that I seem too pushy, since the last time I had seen him was yesterday. So I act like I was just putting my purse down and get up to greet the others.
”Hi, Jen!” Squeals Elizabeth Banks, who plays Effie, from behind me. ”Hey, there girl! How have ya been?” I ask, embracing her, hoping the reddening on my face has ceased. ”Oh, you know. Same old same old.” ”Yeah, I see you’ve gotten a lot of roles since The Hunger Games blew up. Nice job!” I smile, looking down on her. She’s only an inch or two shorter, unlike Josh, who seems distances away.
She thanks me as she returns to her seat as Lenny Kravits, who’s in the seat in front of her, nods at me as I scootch in between his manager to get a hug. Although I’ve seen him and his daughter, Zoe, who is my best friend only a week okay, the smile I wear on my face in terms of meeting him doesn’t go unnoticed.
Then I make my way to Woody Harrelson who is so lost in a magazine that I have to tap him on the shoulder to make sure he’s still alive. ”Hey, Woody!” I say as I embrace him. ”Oh, hey, you. You doing good?” He asks. ”Why yes, I am. Thank you,” I smile. ”How about yourself?” He nods and perches his lip. ”I’ve been well.” I laugh at my next comment. ”No more sex swing?” I joke as I point my finger and lift my eyebrows at him. Woody, being the silly guy that he is, goes along with my tease. ”I promise.” He laughs as I head back to my seat.
Wait. Something’s missing. No, not something. Someone. ”Where’s…Liam..?” I question, bobbing my head around. ”I’m right here.” Says the man with his absorbing Australian accent. I turn around to see him salvaging from the bathroom. I walk up to him and give him a hug. ”Why do all my friends have to use the bathroom so badly?” I joke. ”At least we know how to use the bathroom, Jen.” Josh teases me as I remember my little peeing-in-the-woods accident. I roll my eyes as I take my seat next to him and punch him in the arm.
”Hey!” He jumps, rubbing his shoulder. ”How am I supposed to act if you damage me up before we even begin shooting?” He annoys, pouting out his bottom lip like his little pitbull, Driver- who I’ve seen so many times- does so oftenly.
”Don’t think it won’t happen more frequently,” I rag, mimicking his sulky look.
”So, how have you been?” He asks, turning his head to look at me.
”Josh, I saw you yesterday.” I exclaim.
”Yeah, I know. But it doesn’t hurt to ask.” He retorts. In that case, I nod. ”Pretty good, except for some minor setbacks. Like the lack of sleep.” I say, loudly enough for Amelia to hear me. I eye her, and she just puts her hands up in a defensible mode. Josh and I laugh at her reaction. Now would be the perfect time to tease him.
I summon over the attendant and he rests beside me. ”Umm, hi. Could you please pour a glass of champagne for each of us? Thank you.” I say, as the attendant nods and begins to walk away, but before he can, I call him back over. ”Oh, I’m sorry, but not for this one. He’s underage and he can not drink.” I giggle, pointing over at Josh. This seems to get Woody and Elizabeth’s attention, because they begin to laugh as well.
‘’Har har, very funny,’’ Josh mocks as he flicks my ear. ‘’Uhmm, ow?’’ I say, flicking him back. Before I know it, we’re in a tickle fight and it’s just when the attendant rushes back over with my champagne that I have to pull myself off of him.
