An orange gem arose from her spot in the hibernation room to see that most of the gems had already woken up.
Amber looked up to see Fluorite standing over her.
"Hey newbie you missed the morning meeting, phosphophyllite has a new partner Antarcticite the one gem that crystallizes in winter and does winter duty , well it looks like phos couldnt sleep and had to join antarc , and from what I heard she lost her arms to the ice floes. But i looks like she did pretty good after she got her new alloy arms they can stretch pretty long and can form weird shapes".
Amber's curiosity peeked at the mention of Phosphophyllites' new arms.
As amber sat up to she saw Sensei standing in one of the corridors.
Sensei lifted his head up and spoke to amber in almost commanding voice." Amber, please come with me to my study their something I need to tell you"
Amber followed sensei to his study and stood in front of his desk. Amber looked over to her right and saw Red Beryl holding a lab coat and Rutile standing next to red beryl with a joyful smile pn her face .
Amber looked back up to sensei as red beryl handed him the lab coat. "We've found a job for you amber you'll be the assistant doctor for Rutile".
Sensei put the lab coat in ambers hands. "Get dressed up it nearly time for some training for the new job," said Rutile with a smirk.
A few weeks had passed since amber's new role had things been kinda rocky in the . It started with Bort and Phosphophyllite becoming partners then some new type of Lunarian attacked. It took the form of a large half human/half animal
Unfortunately this lunarian creature attacked Dia and she got shattered by the new type of Lunarian which was a nightmare to piece back together. Padparadscha woke up for a little bit which was a relief to Rutile until Padparadscha fell unconscious again.
within a few weeks of the luanraian creature attacking phos and Ghost Quartz partnered up. Unfortunately not even a a week later she was abducted by Lunarians with the gem living inside her Cairngorm being the only thing left behind in the attack. Amber l had to repair Caringorm which was essentially like reforming a new gem.
With all the stress that had been put on amber within less than a month had caused her mental health to slowly deteriorate.
It had been a month since amber had started the job, and amber had woken up and put on her uniform for another day at work. Upon arrival at the med bay she felt as if her body would fall apart. Sitting on the tabel was the horrifically damaged bodies of Sphene,Peridot,Phosphophyllite, and Cairngorm.
Amber looked over to Rutile who was Grabbing tools and Glue to put the broken gems back to together. Amber grabbed the glue and a pare of pliers and began reattaching Sphenes arms back onto her shoulder as rutile pieced Peridots arms back together.
Then came the challenge of trying to fix Phosphophyllite due to most of her body being held together by alloy. But with the help of rutile she got Phosphophyllite back together in less than a few hours. Caringorm wasnt much of a challenge either but by the end of it she was completely exhausted and slumped to the floor as the four gems walked off to thier rooms.
"Rutile when you became a doctor was it always this hard at the start". Rutile lifted her head up and looked at amber with a concern. "To an extent yes thier were days were nothing much happend so it would try and awaken Padparadscha and other days i would have to fix multiple broken gems which was very difficul. some days it could barley manage everything myself but the thought of Padparadscha and helping the other gems of course".
Rutile's paused her speech, thinking for a second before resuming what she was going to say. "Amber its normal to feel stressed out or feel like youre not doing the job right and sooner or later you might find something you'll like about you're job"
For the next few days Amber began to ponder about what rutile said but before she could make anything of it Phosphophyllite lost her head to the lunarians.
Amber stood next to rutile as Phosphophyllite's headles body was carried into the med bay. Sensei looked at Rutile and Amber then at Cairngorm.
Rutile inspected the lifeless body phos beofre looking back up at sensei and without a word grabbed amber over as they both began to try find anything to reform Phosphophyllite's head.
First they tried using her alloy to form a new head but it kept on falling apart again and again. So they tried finding minerals in the convalescent center but that was cut short when Caringorm bought a box that Rutile instantly recognized.
"Cairn you we should think abo-", "Rutile she had a hardness of 5 which is relatively close to Phosphophyllite's hardness".
Cairngorm set what was left of the gem insixe the box on the table as Euclase and Jade entered the med bay. "Phosphophyllite needs a new head, and were going to use Lapis Lazuli's head with you're permission sensei".
"Is this possible Rutile?" Asked sensei with a Furrowed brow. "Thiers is a chance from pervious medical records and accounts from fluorite smaller pieces and body parts of gems that were abducted were used to help fix gems with simliar mineral compositions" replied rutile.
Ruitle quickly began explaining the difficulties that could come with phos being made of several minerals like agate,shell and alloy and her original body Phosphophyllite but she only got the minerals. body parts out of necessity but Lapis on the other hand had been born made of 6 minerals all in one. The 4 main ones being Lazurite,Sodalite,Hayune and pyrite. Becuase of this it we make the already complex structure of Phosphophyllite even nore complex added on with the fact the two gems memories and thoughts from thier inclusions could cause them to merge Consciences and minds that would result in disaster.
This left Rutile and Amber with two descions either attach Lapis Lazuli's head to Phos or collect minerals from the shore of nascency until they had enough material to recreate a head.
Cairngorm intially tried tearing of her head but was quickly stopped by the intervetion of Sensei, "you have my persmission to attach Lapis Lauzlis head to Phosphophyllite".
The operation was swift with Rutile dettaching tiny pieces lapis neck and attaching her head to the base of pho's neck. Amber picked up the spare pieces of lapis and attached to the head to the base of the neck, completely binding the head together.
The next day the news broke out at the morning meeting that lapis lauzlis head was attached to Phosphophyllite. Most of the gems were surprised by this announcement most of them either shocked or in a state of denial.
All of the gems surrounded the unconscious Phosphophyllite offering them condolences and adivce for when they wake up. Amber was the last ond to talk to phos ,"im going to miss you phos I hope you wake up soon". Amber watched as Rutile placed a cloth over Phosphophyllite's face.
