fun fact: halfway through writing this i got really frustrated with myself and gave up. 😍😍 then i beat spamton neo on my first try in the japanese version of deltarune so yeha 🥳🥳 that was the sole thing motivating me to finish this

I searched through my bag. Crap. I forgot to bring my money; we were almost to the ice cream shop.

"Heeey, Akito," I said, sighing.

"Hmm?" He stopped walking.

"So you know how we're, like, together?"

"Sure."

"And couples do things for each other, like buying stuff." He sighed. We had reached a crosswalk, so I hit the button and looked at the light thingy.

"I didn't forget your birthday or anything, right?" I shook my head. "Oh good. Well what do you want from me now?"

"I, uh, forgot my money again. I'll pay you back, I promise." The little person showed up and we crossed the street together.

"Nah, it's ok. I'll pay for you. Just don't try to get the most expensive stuff or anything." Oh. That was nice of him. I still felt a little guilty. We arrived at the ice cream place. I held the door open for him and did a little bow. He rolled his eyes.

"Hello! I'll be right with you!" A man from behind the counter said.

"I'm surprised it's not that busy. It's like, 35 degrees out." Akito shrugged.

"I guess not a lot of people come here. It's kinda sad, since this place is really good," he said.

"Ok, sorry about that. How can I help you?" The server said, returning from the kitchen. They had their hair pulled back into a ponytail and looked about 20 years old.

"I'll just get a chocolate cone please."

"Yeah, I'll have a (Y/C) please." The worker gave us our stuff and Akito paid. We sat at one of the tables outside. 

"Eww! Are you biting it?!" I asked, putting my hands on the table.

"Yeah. Isn't that a normal thing?" 

"No! And doesn't that hurt your teeth?" He shook his head. 

"I also don't get brain freezes or anything."

"That's so weird."

"No it isn't. Only like, a third of people get brain freezes." Huh. I guess I never thought about that. 

"Anyways, I'm glad we got to do this. I know I've been a bit busier lately, but now that it is summer time I don't have to do as much as I used to. I still gotta babysit though." I said, watching some of the cars pass by. 

"Oh yeah. Your parents work, so you have to watch your younger sibling(s). If you have to go, I don't want to keep you."

"Oh! No, no, no! They're at camp this week. So, I don't really have anything to do." He smiled a little bit. 

"I don't stay home much. I spend most of my time going out and doing something," Akito replied.

"Really? What do you even do? I just watch TV all the time."

"Usually my sister will make me get her something she wants, and I'll see something cool to do when I'm out, and I'll get all distracted for the day. Which reminds me, I was supposed to bring her back something from here." 

"What did she want?"

"I don't remember. A milkshake or something. I'm not getting it."

"Akito!"

"Besides, it would just get all melty."

"Yeah, I guess. But it's a milkshake."

"If she wants it, she can just come get it herself. It's not like we live a mile away." He said, shrugging. 

AND THEN ENA RUNS INTO THE SHOP 😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯AND GETS A MILKSHAEK THE END 🤩🤩🤩🤩
