Current events reflect past events, but what happens when there is no past? Memories happen that way. Our brains work in a way where imagination can clearly- and without notice- disrupt a memory and event in your mind.I sometimes wonder if what we can recollect is the complete truth. Was everything I knew and remember just a wind of imagination? Was it just a dream to have thought I could be there- in an event that never occurred? Well, whether dream or reality, recounting it may be the last time it would be remembered in purity.
Just like that, we are taken into a place- a jungle of concrete. In this place, in one of the many tall buildings, was a woman in her dimly lit office room where at this current moment, sat at her desk looking through pages in a folder she was holding. A woman who appeared to have encountered a dilemma- evident because of her growing furrowing eyebrows.
This seemed to go on for minutes as all you could hear in that office was the quiet sound of pages being flipped and the distant sound of a clock ticking away the hours this woman had appeared to have passed in her office.
Although the woman had wanted to solve her problem, it seemed looking through the folders did not help. It was only when she closed the folder did she breathlessly mutter, "Absurd..."
Now, If one person had heard that coming from this woman, they would've probably thought it was a mistake. That they probably heard it from the other office room. This was, of course, not a normal occurrence for someone like her. This alone would lead you to question the contents of the folder she had recently closed in her hands.
You see, for this woman, it was a surprise she would have expected if it had not been for the years of practice she has had in her field of work of law and justice. For her, this was a first. It was one of the first cases since she first started working in the field where she had been put in a full stop. It had seemed that tonight, and for this whole week, she would have to work hard to get the results her client not only deserves but needs.
Thinking of this, she decided that the folder in her hand was not useful, so she set it aside in a cardboard box on the floor where she had already accumulated many files. Contrary to belief, having all the evidence you need may not help you get the evidence that is most important. Seeing this, the woman couldn't do anything but purse her lips and look back at her desk where an upcoming folder she would have to evaluate was.
it was only a second, but before she knew it, she glanced at her computer that had been displaying this morning's news. For the reason this woman had it displayed on the screen so late at night was not so much a mystery as the case she had taken.
*Tick-tock**Tick-tock**Tick-tock**Tick-tock**Tick-tock..........
As her eyes stayed on the computer screen, the title, "R.F Technical Ambassador and management on fire as the report of a recent missing child was filed inside the company building. Will the prosecution persist and will they sue the company for the unsafe work environment?" was seen on the screen while a picture of a man being swarmed with cameras, microphones, and new reporters while trying to enter a building.
It seemed almost like she was lost in thoughts. Perhaps she was thinking of a way she could solve this dilemma and win the case. Perhaps she could even be stuck as to why there had been no information on her client's son. All this paired with lack of sleep had made the soft ticking of a clock nearby seem insufferable.
*sigh*
"...Wait.."
It was only after the sigh that she had an epiphany. 'Perhaps the real problem of this dilemma was right in from of my eyes- in plain sight. In a place where it was hidden by the press. A place that no one had even the slightest of interest would look-'
