Beep. Beep. Beep. Waking up, you wonder what the hell has been making so much noise. Then you look around and start to panic. You don't recognize anything and have no idea how you got here.

A nurse walks in and says, "I'm glad that you're finally awake. You've been out for days since the accident. How are you feeling?"

Beyond confused, you question everything she just said, but she just ignores your questions. She then asks more questions, "Do you remember the accident? What is your name?"

"I remember a bright light, so much pain, and lots of screaming and blood. I just remember flashes of it, but not the whole thing. But I can't remember my name or... anything.

The nurse smiles sympathetically at you and says, "Don't worry about that at all. Your memory should come back in a few days, this is perfectly normal for your condition. Now the doctor will be in soon, but would you like to see your family?"

You wonder who they are, but are afraid to see them. After all, who would want a daughter who is so damaged? "No, I just feel like resting, but thank you." You feel bad about lying to the nurse, but you just aren't ready to meet them.

The nurse seems like she knows you're lying, but she leaves anyway. You start to wonder about your family and friends. Will they still love you even though you don't know who they are?
