They made it to the club early tonight. Walked in just the two of them as always. Abel and Lamar, one next to the other. The could leave the club separately, they often didn't but from time to time they would. But, they never walked in alone, or with more people, it was always just them. They were the heads of it all anyway.

XO, their crew would find them there, or be there before them. It didn't matter. For most of the crew this was about fun. The two of them always had business to take care of. Abel was always the leader, the clever, plan making, smartass, setting up their dials. Coming up with the ideas. Mostly drugs and sometimes guns were their main occupation. Lamar was there to make sure everything goes smoothly. Abel's best friend. Abel's right hand. He was there to keep him on the ground. Remind him not to get over his head. Something Abel would do often. Lamar was the voice of reason, the thread that kept Abel close to reality even though the later was flowing up on the clouds at times.

About an hour before midnight and they had walked in making their way into the back of the club. Their main crew was already there. They tended to be there early. Girls already with them. Drinks already on the table. Smoke was making their faces foggy. Abel dropped down on a couch with a groan of annoyance.

She groaned in satisfaction softly as she opened the car window, the cold air slammed on her face making her hair move around. Her hand went out of the window and up to rest on the cars rooftop. She kept her gaze on the buildings they passed by and she only snapped her out of her trance when her partner spoke up.

"You are doing it again, love." He said glancing at her for a moment.

She shrugged knowing he was still looking at her with a side gaze even though his eyes seemed fixed on the road. She was not in the mood in general, definitely not in the mode for one of his pointing out the obvious lectures. She kept silent, and of course he went on.

"Not in the mode today huh?"

He said smiling and obviously glancing at her once more. As if she didn't know he was looking at her anyway. She sighed staring at her tattooed hand resting out of the window.

"Just get me there. I have work to do. " She said quietly but firmly.

"Always the professional." He said and questioned after a small pause. "When am I seeing you again?"

"You know how this goes, there's gonna be other jobs in between and travelling for them, I just moved into this new apartment here taking up on this big shit and you are leaving to go back tonight. So, I have no damn idea. "

She felt bad for snapping at him a bit. He has always been a great support for her. Yes, he could never understand her or relate to her in a deeper level but it would be unfair of her to expect that of him. He was a company for the few times she felt like not being alone in her darkness. He was good sex and fun. He loved her and cared for her. He was able to manage being ok with the life she was leading without whining to much about it.

"Maybe you should just chill tonight, have a drink and some fun, work will be there tomorrow as well." He said and she did not replied.

He stopped the car right outside of the club and she fixed her short, tight on the body, short sleeved dress, simple yes, but he never liked dress and this was the best she was willing to do for tonight. She could change it up later if needed. As she was about to open the door his hand rested no her shoulder.

"Ryan, listen I know what happen during your last job. I know it's been hard on you. And I'm here whenever you wanna talk. But, love, you cannot blame yourself. "
