Fun times with Peter and Melody

Fun game of tag :)

Melody was just practicing her lyre by her favorite tree in the orchard. She was finally allowed to just be alone, the others were all busy, Melody assumed probably either hanging out or doing chores. Even that strange girl wasn't bothering her at all! She could finally practice her music in peace, she'd been wanting to learn a new song anyways. As she was playing, she overheard some footsteps, she immediately stopped playing and turned to where the sound was from, expecting it to be Felix or Andy coming to bother her once again.

But instead, it was a very large pumpkin headed man right outside the apple tree orchard, he had large green overalls with a couple patches over them and a tired but kind smile. Melody didn't recognize him but she didn't feel scared, he looked very kind. The pumpkin man stepped towards Melody and into the sun as he spoke.

"Hello, I'm Peter the Pumpkin! I overheard your pretty music and just had to come over and see who was playing!"

He had a slight southern accent as he spoke, he stopped a couple feet in front of Melody as she happily stood up. He looked even taller now that he was close up.

"Oh hi! I'm Melody, and thank you!! I've been practicing!" She held up her lyre and smiled "I'm starting to learn a new song right now!".

Peter bent down to her level "Oh, that's impressive! Well, I was hoping you weren't too busy cause I wanted to play a game! I usually play with my best friend Andy, but he's with his other friends, I know he's mentioned you before!"

Melody was a little surprised, she didn't remember Andy ever mentioning someone named Peter. "That's strange, Andy never mentioned you before?".

Peter chuckled "Oh of course he hasn't, every time we play tag he never wins against me!".

Melody laughed too, it sounded like Andy to be too embarrassed to admit he found a friend way better at tag than him.

"Oh, well then I bet I could probably win against you!! I'm wayyy faster than Andy!"

She put her lyre away as Peter stood up straight again

"That'd be great! Come follow me to the wheat maze so we can start!"

Peter walked back to where he came from, suddenly seeing a path leading into the orchard. But just as Melody was about to follow him, she felt a hand hold her back.

She looked behind her to see the strange girl, with her light peachy skin, long brown hair and creepy bright green eyes. She was slightly transparent but it didn't stop her from being able to stop Melody from even moving forward, even though she was just grabbing her arm.

"Don't. Follow. Him."

Her mouth didn't move but her voice rang loud in Melody's ears.

"Ugh, just when I'm allowed to be alone!"

"No, you don't understand. Don't play with him."

Melody's legs stood planted in the ground, she could tell the girl was probably partially possessing her to keep Melody from moving. She hated it, she was barely ever alone and had random gaps in her memories every time the girl possessed her. She knew the girl even made her meaner to Andy every time she possessed Melody too.

"Why??? We're just gonna play tag! You already control me most of the time, I can't even get some free time by myself!?" Melody tried to pull away from the girl but she still couldn't move.

"NO. He's dangerous, you can't trust him."

"And I should trust you now?? All you've done is make me be horrible to my best friend!!"

Melody kept trying to move away, even move her arms up to push the girl away, but the more she tried, the less she could move.

"You have to trust me right now, Melody. That- thing is very dangerous, and you have no clue what he's capable of-".
