"Sixtine, hello? Have you awakened yet?"

It was the first thing that D-1649 heard upon obtaining consciousness again. Her eyes peeled open to see the Doctor, sitting on the ground cross-legged to look at her instead of his usual kneeling. He looked to be much more awake than before his nap from yesterday. She shifted and smiled at him.

"Hey, Doc. Did you sleep well? You look a lot better."

He nodded

"I suppose that I did."

"That means I was right, you did need to go to bed," she remarked smugly.

I would attempt to silence her remarks, but they seemed to make her happy, so I decided not to bother.

"Yes, I guess so. On the other hand, your food has arrived."

"Our food," she corrected, moving out from under the bed.

The Doctor stood next to D-1649 as she ate so that she didn't have to chuck any food at him. About half of the food ended up being given to him. She would have claimed more for herself, but she felt as if it was her duty to make sure he was well fed and rested after last night.

"Sho," she started talking to him with some of the food still in her mouth, "when awe we gonna do dat French shtuff?"

He sighed and narrowed his eyes at her.

She knew better than to talk like that, I knew it for sure. However, there was no use in commenting about it.

"As I said before, teaching may not be one of my strengths. It would be best for you to find a true teacher to assist you once you have managed to free yourself from this building."

"And as I said before, I'm sure you'd be a great teacher. Give it a shot," she said, looking at him with a genuine smile. "You'll do amazing."

I felt my face become as hot as the first time she encouraged me to do this.

"Well, I trust in your opinion. When would you want to begin learning?"

"The sooner, the better! Could we just start right now?"

"It does not seem as if there is much else to do instead. Yes, we may begin."

He made his way to the shelf of notebooks and picked up one with no label on the spine. However, something looked to catch his eye.

"Sixtine, these are out of order."

"In my defense, I was tired."

"You were tired? Most of your day is solely... ah, I do not wish to argue. I shall rearrange them later."

D-1649 sat down in the chair with the Doctor to her left. He mostly went on rambling while writing down what he was talking about, hoping that she comprehended the information thrown at her. How he was explaining it was fairly simple. The only problem was how fast he went through it all. He managed to jot down information about the French alphabet, accents, and sentence structure in under half an hour.
