It has been five weeks since I found out that my best friend has been dating my then-boyfriend. It was the worst day of my life, and now everything's falling apart. I thought he was the one! And I'd never expected my best friend would do such a thing to me. I feel so stupid, I shouldn't have trusted them. Following the incident that happened, I also began unfriending most, If not all of my friends. I mean, it's not like I don't want them in my life anymore, it's just I don't think I could trust anyone after what had happened.

I guess I can partially blame myself for trusting my ex-boyfriend even though all the red flags were popping up like popcorn. What's even worse is my mum's making me go back to school in a few days and I can't go to school after unfriending all my friends and knowing that my ex-best friend's secretly dating my ex-boyfriend! But I gotta do what my mum wants me to do ,and perhaps I missed lots of assignments and I should catch up soon!

Well well well, here I am, Maya Angelou Magnet School. I'm trying hard to blend in with the crowd, but it doesn't help that I look like a wet seabag! Gosh, I need a glow-up after days of crying. Anyway, as I got into my classroom I could already hear my classmates throwing gossip around "I heard that Barry broke off with Natalie because her breath smells like rotting fish" "I heard Cheyenne secretly hates Natalie, and that's why she stole Natalie's Boyfriend"...It felt tortuous. Every part of my body felt in pain, it was like my body doesn't want me to be there. Every minute I spend in this classroom feels like an hour in hell "Natalie Almodóvar? Please kindly come up and write your answer to the question on the whiteboard."

Crap! I was so distracted by my body screaming in agony that I didn't even listen to my teacher's words! So, I tried to answer the question but I can't focus knowing that my ex-best friend and boyfriend are probably whispering about me at the back of the class! I got back to my seat and my teacher out loud said "Now kids, this is not how you answer a math equation. Natalie, I know you're going through a tough time, but you shouldn't dumb yourself down just because a boy doesn't love you back!" Everyone in the class laughed, and I felt nauseous. Ugh, what do you know Mrs. Guille? Your ex-husband won custody over the kids during your divorce! You shouldn't be speaking. And then my teacher said something any lonely student would hate... "Students, since we're close to ending the year, I would like you to pair up with someone in the class and make a poster about the importance of foundations in tall buildings. This project will account for 30% of your final grade." Everyone quickly scattered around trying to find a partner and of course, Barry and Cheyenne paired up together, Disgusting. I was left with this one guy whom I've never talked to and is known to be quite.. weird... His name's Chris Macmillan.

Oh God, this is going to be one hell of a ride. So, we agreed to meet up at my house on Sunday and every day leading up to that day, I was trying hard to prepare my mentality to make sure I don't go cuckoo on him. Oh my god, I need a better way of controlling my emotions.

Today's the day, Chris is going to be here any minute. And I can say for sure that I am definitely not ready for this. As the doorbell rang, I anxiously welcomed him into my home and I got him into my room to start the project.

This is really awkward, It's so awkward that it's pretty much unexplainable. And so, it went like this: "Natalie... Your house is quite lovely i-i think.." "Thank you I guess?" "Yeah.. so shall we start...?" "Ok then... I'll get some markers..." Yup, that's how it went! Pretty awkward huh? As we were doing our poster, I noticed something, Chris is actually a cool person! He's just shy, That's all. Maybe we shouldn't stereotype people after all. We finally finished our project after 5 hours of nothing but work. Phooey, that was tiring! but Chris made 5 hours feel like an hour. "Hey Chris, we should hang out more!" Oh god, Natalie why did you say that! He's obviously going to say no! He probably thinks I have a crush on him! "Sure, You're actually really funny" OH. MY. GOD. I wish I can explain how relieved and happy I felt! He truly is a great guy.

So, a few weeks went by and I and Chris simply became inseparable. He became my best friend! What's even better is we don't have feelings for each other, That means our conversations are never awkward, which is simply the best thing ever! He became my right-hand man. I also completely moved on from Cheyenne and Barry, I got no time for them! Because with Him around, We're an unstoppable force. It was all going well until one day Cheyenne decided to hardly slap me in the face, Well- Not literally... See I was putting things in my locker when suddenly someone closed my locked out of nowhere. "Natalie, we need to talk" And well well well, lookie here, It's Cheyenne. My Ex-best friend. Ugh, what does she want from me? "Natalie, I heard you've been posting rumors about me and my boyfriend stealing the answers for the upcoming test" Posting rumors? Girl, literally I forgot you existed. What in the world is she on? "Cheyenne, I completely moved on from you.

Girly I forgot you existed, so don't you try to come at me unless I come at you" Cheyenne tried to strike a punch at me when someone yelled "HEY" from across the hallway, it was Chris! And he looked pretty mad too... "Cheyenne, what is wrong with you? You came outta nowhere and attacked my homie Nat for no reason" Oh dang, He is tough. He'd win against her for sure. "Chris? Aren't you that weirdo who sits at the back of the class with the other art freaks? Boy please, you don't know anything about this dinghead here." "Hey, Cheyenne.

I might not be one of her first friends, But I can for sure say that I'm a much better friend than you'll ever be. See, you don't just betray your closest buddy out of nowhere Missy. You don't just date your best friend's boyfriend in secret because that's not what a friend would do, that's what a villain would do. You are just like your mother you know? You said that your dad ran away to Kansas. He was fed up with Your Mum when we all know that he left your family because he found out that your mum has been in a relationship with someone she met in a place where the music's loud and the lights flicker. In other words, as we normally call it, THE NIGHTCLUB. Maybe that's why your dad left you. He doesn't want to be in a family he couldn't trust." Oh, Lord! I didn't know Chris had that much shade in him.

Cheyenne was about to slap Chris but suddenly the school speakers let out an announcement "Cheyenne Beverly Stephenson from Class 12-B would you kindly visit Mr. Loughan's Office? He has something important to tell you." She quickly ran to Mr. Loughan's Office. So, it turns out, it is true. Cheyenne and Barry have been secretly stealing answer sheets and selling them for 10 dollars each. Mr. Loughan quickly expelled them and finally, my world is at peace.
