As I walked onto school grounds I had to be very careful that nobody was there to catch us runaways. I went up to the office, "Hello I'm here to pick up Ashlyn Freemen for a doctor's appointment." I asked kindly, trying not to draw too much attention my way. "Hello, Can I see your ID?" I forgot about that. "Of course," I said softly, opening the backpack I had on. I've sneaked Ashlyn out of school enough to have Angel Freemans fake ID (Ashlyns mom). "Here you are ma'am" I said with a reassuring smile. "Perfect, I'll call her up," Right as she said that she dialed a number on the old telephones most schools used. "Alana Freemen to the office, you're being signed off for the day," She looked at me and smiled sitting back down in her chair. After about seven minutes I could see Ashylns curvy figure walk towards the office. She saw me and smiled. "Have a good day, God bless you both". As we walked out Ashlyn started laughing, "What's the special event?" She snickered. I told her what was going on. It took awhile, she didn't want to believe it. But she had to eventually. "What the fuck Iris." She snapped, I could feel the pressure in my eyes building up. "I'm sorry I didn't want you to be a part of this," The tears started rolling down my cheeks, "I love you, you're my best friend. I don't want to hurt you so you have to trust us and run." She stared. Blank. She started to sob. "I...Why us?" She sobbed, I pulled her in. Her face against my shoulder. I rubbed my hand up and down her back to try and calm her down before we got into Jennys car and forgot nothing was happening.

We hopped in the car and sat in silence for the whole car ride. They dropped us off at a desert that was an hour away from where we were last spotted. By the time we all got there it was around three, The siblings dropped us off and said their farewells.

"So guys, this is Ashlyn. By bestfriend." I said awkwardly, still in shock. Everyone said hi, and we started walking in the direction of Arizona. Gwen was visibly uncomfortable, my gaze went to Camron who was talking with Everly. Yana hit my arm and gave me a smirk, "What?" I said sternly. "Nothing" She said and continued walking. Ashlyn only knew the people from when I added her to a call with them or she texted then once or twice. I already knew my dog was waiting for me in my wide queen bed, the thought of him laying there with his saddened face made me cry. Whenever I left that was how he was. He was my comfort animal. The only person who actually understood me, my every action and thought. He was about two feet tall with white prickly fur. He had the prettiest light blue eyes, I could stare at them for hours. Though he was a dog, I still talked to him like a normal human. Every Night I told him everything. I miss him. I knew it was gonna be a long time til I could return home. The tears trickled down my face. Ava put her arm around me. "Hey mamas, You ok?" She said in her soft motherly voice. I nodded as she hugged me tighter then looked at me in the eyes,

" Don't worry we will get out of this as soon as we possibly can," She said sternly.

"What if we don't get out of this?" I asked.

"Don't say that. We will." She said now looking ahead. Aurora was silent most of the way. They were more of the quiet type but once you get to know them and get to know their true personality, You will never want to start talking to them. "Ugh! There's no cell connection!" Ashlyn yelled in frustration. We all looked at eachother then at her and laughed, "Yea, dumbass, we are in a desert in the middle of nowhere. Don't you think I would be looking at edits of Chris Evans by now?" Yana said with a smirk. Ashlyn and Yana have met before, but they never seemed to get along. They were always bickering over the most random stuff. Ashlyn has always been protective over our friendship so when Yana came along in the third grade and became my "School bestfriend '' it didn't go so well with Ashlyn and Yana. "Wait a damn minute." Camron pulled the phone out of her pocket and continued to slam the gold rim phone on the ground, making little shards of glass spiral around our feet,

"What the hell!?" I said, confused out of my mind, "What was that for?" Camron stared at the broken glass, "They can track our phones." All of our eyes widened, and we all pulled our phones out. "I can't, this is my life!" Ashlyn yelled, "Well your life will be spent in jail or maybe even end if you don't break it." Yana said with a sigh. With no hesitation Aurora sat down and smashed her phone on a rock. She slowly sat back up. "It's easy enough, Ashlyn." Aurora said with a blank look on her face. Ashlyn frowned and handed me her phone, "You do it." She said, putting her hands over her eyes. I slammed both of your phones on the ground. Ashlyn hugged herself as she stared at the broken phone, "My whole world was in there." I stared at her with a sarcastic mad face, "What about me bitch?" I tossed my arm around her shoulder. We both giggled. Everyone followed after us throwing their phone on the ground. And running as fast as we could till, we couldn't breathe. "I have asthma losers!" Everly yelled out of breath. I reached my hand into my bag and pulled out the bright red inhaler, "here" I tossed it to her, and she began to inhale the magical air. Camron laughed at the nose it made, which made me laugh too. We started walking late into the night till we finally hit a little town, Luckily the town had a sketchy ass motel.
