Chapter 6: His Half

Chase is going crazy as days pass by. He can't help but crave the warlock's presence, his touch, his voice. He heard a knock on the door and told them to come in.

"Hey Chase, why did you call me and Blake here?" Jasper asked as Blake entered with his mate, Jacob.

"I found my mate- And before you react I want this to be between all of us."

"We promise."

"My mate is the warlock who crashed my party."

"No fucking way?"
"For real? When did you realize?"

Chase took a deep breath and started explaining how he went to investigate and search the ruins after he saw the dark clouds.

"Damn, that's a powerful mate. But why that warlock?" Jacob asked.

"Dunno, but I think their Deity and our Goddess want to fix things up."

"They sure did that between our Rank 2 pack and their Rank 2 coven."

"You mean Gelo and Mikki are a thing?" Chase asked.

"You know Alpha Mikki?" Blake questioned him.

"Yes, we went to the same training camp."

He sighed and looked at all of them. "I want this conversation to stay in this room only, got it? Good. You all may leave, Jasper please stay here I need to talk to you."

Once the others left the room Jasper leaned by the wall near the window.

"Let me guess. You want me to form a team to keep watch of this mate of yours."

"You know me too well, don't you? Yes. I want you to watch him carefully, but make sure you won't be near. He's from the Crimson Coven, he can sense you miles away. Get Han and Minho those two are our best scouts."

Jasper nodded in understanding his task. "I'll leave right away Alpha."

"Good luck, and stay safe brother."

"Come on, don't get all too mushy on me now." Jasper laughed as he left the room.

"That warlock... Shit! I haven't gotten his name yet!" He cussed out and sighed before returning to his paper works.

On the other side of the river, Caleb, Gelo, and Mikki are staying in for the night.

"What took you so long?" Gelo asked Caleb as he saw the warlock arrive.

"They have reinforcements, I just took care of them." Caleb lied where in they believed the said lie.

"We could've helped you, you know?" Mikki stated.

"No, some fled. If you were seen, they might attack your union."

"Still." Mikki pouted as he took a bite of the grilled fish.

"You deal with that attitude of his every day?" Caleb asked as he sat across them.

"What do you mean Gelo deals with-"
"Yes. He's quite moody for an Alpha."

"Oh shut it. You are a screamer in--"
"Alright! No more. I won't speak more. Geeze you guys are something else."

"Jokes aside. How will you tell your aunt that you are the only survivor in your coven?"

"I don't know. Aunt Agnes loves my dad and my mom so much."

"Let's just hope for the worse to happen. Who knows maybe your aunt knows it already." Mikki replied to Caleb.

After they eat, they were about to sleep when a robed man passed by.

"Greetings travelers." The unknown man greeted them.

Mikki and Gelo immediately took defensive stances and blocked Caleb.

"What's with such aggressiveness lads? I am one of you, a warlock from the Abyss Coven."

"Abyss Coven you say. What's your name?" Caleb replied with a slight hesitation to believe it.

"I am Archie."

"Nice to meet you. I am Caleb, this is Mikki and Gelo."

"Alpha Gelo, nice to finally meet you. I've heard stories of you and your mate Head Warlock Mikki. Come, the coven is near here."

"How did Archie know these two if he is from the Abyss Coven? Abyss and Air Coven are rivals?"

He then started casting runes underneath his clothes and under Gelo's and Mikki's clothes. His suspicions are starting to be right when they took a detour. He blasted an energy ball towards Archie.

"Who are you, Archie?! This is not the path towards the Abyss Coven!" Caleb smirked when Archie tried to use his magic.

"Remember, studying runes are basic property of magic. Looks like you forgot it." He smirked as he made their cloaks grow and made the runes encircle them. "Speak, now."

"Why would I?"

"Because we will kill you if you hurt our king's other half." 

Jasper spoke and appeared behind Archie along with Minho and Han

"Shifters? What are you doing here?"

"It's our king's orders." Minho scoffed and looked at Archie. "Leave, you are outnumbered."

Archie smirked. "You won this time Crimson Warlock, but soon your power will be mine." He then vanished in thin air.

"How did that warlock vanish? You have runes." Gelo asked.

"Basic courtesy of rune magic. If you have a witch or warlock trapped in runes, do not engage in a fight and let them have a warning, if done once more, action must be made." Mikki explained.

Caleb then looked at Jasper. "Your king is a moron. Me? His other half? No way, this is a trap you had set up. Leave now!"

Jasper sighed and looked at Minho and Han. "Let's go." With that, they left and will follow them from a distance, just like how their King had ordered them to do so.

"So you met the King, and they are claiming that you are his mate?"

"Shut it, Gelo, my loved one died long ago from the invasion of the Bengal Tribe." He then starts walking in the direction of the abyss coven.

"That shifter... I can not sense any hint of a lie from his statement... What will Camilo say if he's alive?"

The thought invaded his mind as they walk towards the coven. He shook the thought for now and focused on their goal.
