Falling Apart

Prologue

-Harper POV:

Four years before:

"Harper, it's time for School. Get your arse up, will you?"

That's me, Harper Jenkins, aged 19 years old and a sophomore at University of Ottawa where I'm studying to become a lawyer. The person who is telling me to wake up is my best friend Lyra McDonald, she's a year above me in college and also my mentor, her boyfriend Daniel is in the football team and is a star quarterback.

"Harper, you aren't on Disney Channel and also stop acting like you are on YouTube. Now come on, get up and dressed, otherwise you will miss your first lesson on 'how to become a lawyer'."

I looked at her and stuck my tongue out, which ended up me getting my duvet taken off me and a bottle of water on my face. She can be a tad dramatic and is definitely like a mom in disguise. I get up and flip her the birdie which again ends up me getting attacked, Lyra slaps my head, then straddles me and tickles me.

"OKAY, OKAY. YOU WIN!"
"I always win, babes, better get used to it."
I get dressed into my high waisted black jeans and off the shoulder red crop top, I grabbed my backpack and meet up with Lyra, who was waiting impatiently for me.

"Next time, Harps,I will just leave you."
"Lyra McDonald, you would do no such thing to your best friend, who may I remind you, you love unconditionally."

She rolls her eyes and takes my hand, because apparently 'I walk slow'. When we get to where my class is, she lets go off my hand and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek and gives me her stern look which normally means 'behave'.

I walk into my classroom for the first time, I take a big breath and wave at my teacher, who gives me a quick smile and tells me to go take a seat, I look around at the mostly empty classroom, but see a girl on the top row of chairs, she seems nice. I walk up the stairs and take a seat next to her. She didn't seem to mind one bit.

"Hi, I'm Harper." I smile at her and give her my hand to shake which she does.
"I'm Abigail, but I go by Abby."

I try not to smile again, because I know that would be creepy, but I just couldn't help it. I love making new friends, my older brother Samuel would say that I'm an extrovert and he isn't wrong. When I look ahead, I see more students filling up the chairs, maybe they might become my friend's too.

When all the students have arrived, the teacher ,who I found out, is called Mrs. Harrison and she's going to be a mentor and the teacher of the first course of law.

When she was about to continue her speech, I was indulged in, a boy with a black hoodie covering his face, walked in and closed the door with a slam. He walks up the stairs and right up to my seat. I have to crane my neck back to look up at him, he must be around 6'7 is my guess, because, god, he's tall. I'm around 5'6, so I wouldn't say I was short for a girl just on the average.

"You're in my seat."
"It's the first day.. I didn't realise, we had assigned seats, I'm sorry, I will move." I'm about to get up when Abby puts her hand on my shoulder and sits me back down.
"Adonis, always the pleasure. Go and find somewhere else to sit, because last time, I checked your name wasn't on the seat where Harper is sitting?"
"Seriously, it's okay! I don't mind moving." I move to stand up again when Mrs. Harrison calls out from the front, "Adonis, just sit in the seat next to Harper and stop causing unnecessary drama!"

He glares at me and sits himself down on the seat next to me while I shift my attention back to Mrs. Harrison, who is going over the course of the four years we will be in UOO (University of Ottawa) when someone whispers in my ear.

"Never embarrass me like that again, darling, or I will make your life a living hell!"

I gulp and look at him, but he acts nonchalant. I don't think me and him will become best friends.

I hope you enjoyed the prologue of "Falling apart" you got see Lyra, Harper, Abby and Adonis four years before which gives you a bit of a backstory of how those four met.

There will be a mention of Alcohol abuse so if you aren't comfortable with reading that I would advice you not to read this story, I wouldn't go into full detail about it but it will still be mentioned in this book.

For my lovers of smut get excited because there will be some smut!! For the readers who aren't up to the stage in their life that they want to read it that's okay! You don't have to read it I will put a little - like that to warn you in that specific chapter there is smut.

I can't wait to develop my characters one by one and you guys to fall in love with them.
