I turned off the alarm and covered my face with a blanket. I heard someone talking but couldn't understand any words besides my name. Then I heard footsteps at the stars. Shit, not again...

Something heavy landed on my stomach. I got up and threw my blanket at 8 years old boy, sitting on my bed.

"Gabriel, I thought that you were my friend!"

I acted like I was offened to trick my little cousin.

"I am! Just aunt said that you have to wake up. "

I sighed heavily and got up from bed. I picled up the boy and place him before the door. I immediately closed them and didn't pay attention on agressive knocking.

I opened my drawer and picked my favourite jeans and t-shirt.

"Morning!"

I ran down the stairs and quickly grabbed a sandwich.

"Where are you going, young lady? "

"Y/N isn't a lady, auntie. "

I looked at my mom. She was clearly uncomfortable. I smiled at her, to show that I'm fine. It's not easy to explain what intersex is to a little boy.

"I am, Gabriel. What you have in pants shouldn't define you as a person."

I quickly sat down and opened my book. Gabriel wanted to add something, so I stuffed my mouth with half of the sandwich.

Mhmmhmmm.

He couldn't stop himself from laughing. Finally he gave up with this conversation and started playing with his little cars.

"You're good with children."

"And???"

I knew that my mom suggested something.

"I'm just thinking that you should have kids...Someday of course. "

She added when she saw a look I gave her.

"First, I have to find someone who would want that kids with me. I'm just a freak, obssesed with flowers."

"Don't be so hard on yourself..."

"No, mum. No one who thinks rationally will want me."

"Things change."

I watched as she placed dishes in the sink.
Meanwhile I stood next to window and lit up a cigarette.

"Don't destroy plants standing on windowsill."

"I think that you should scold me for smoking in the first place..."

"It's your health. And you're not a kid anymore."

I inhaled the smoke.

"Well, at least when it comes to my career I had luck. People are gonna ask:

Oh, you own a family business? What does your company do?

Well, you know, we can decorate your wedding with flowers! And if you're our special guest, then we can even be at your funeral!"

I played this whole scene before my mother who started laughing loudly.

"You should work at advertising department. That funeral thing was good."

I finished smoking and left my mom, laughing her ass off.

Later that day

"Is that all for today?"

My dad asked while closing the door of storage room. I was sitting next to the counter, while making notes on our newest orders.

"Ha!"
