Maybe it's not that bad?

"You're enjoing car rides, right?"

I looked over my shoulder, to see excited puppy, looking out of the window.

I stopped the car and got out. Ok, Y/N, keep acting cool. It will be alright. You can be 'friends', after you finish this assigment, you won't have to see her again anymore.

I saw a black shadow, jumping from the car and running next to my legs.

"Anubis!"

Shit. Well, now I'll have to explain why I brought a dog to work.

I chased after him, cursing and when I finally reached him...

Yep. Lizzie was holding him in front of her face.

"Hi! What are you doing here, little one? "

"He's my new dog. I had to take him with me, is that a problem? "

She shook her head and put Anubis on the ground.

"I didn't know you got a dog. What's his name? "

" Anubis."

I answered proudly and heard her laughing her ass off.

"Why'd you name a dog like that? Your human has broken taste. "

He barked and made a circle.

"You little traitor! "

I also couldn't hold my laugh anymore.

Elizabeth's POV

It was already evening. Y/N was preparing to go home. I'm gonna be honest. I spent half of the day, playing with her puppy and still didn't want to say goodbyes. Robbie was out with his friends, so he's not gonna know if I'm a little bit late home.

"Can I join you guys on the walk? "

" Sure."

And that became our little tradicion. Every afternoon, I went with her and Anubis on walks. However, I've never agreed on going inside, after we came back. I was too scared that my feelings could take control over racional thinking.

It was a day before my wedding, when  I received a message from Y/N that she's sick and her mother would take her place.

Will you show up during the ceremony?

Y/N's POV

Does she really expect that I'm gonna be a normal guest, after all that's happened? For real? I have goddamn feelings too!

I should tell her that. I should at least text back. But I didn't. I just pretended that today's a normal day and tomorrow will also be. I read a book, played with Anubis. Tried a new recipe. I had fun.

I heard someone knocking really nervously at my door.

"I'm coming, jeez. "

I opened the door and saw Elizabeth, standing in rain, with smudged make up. Her face was wet, I couldn't tell if from tears or just rain.

I shouldn't let her in. I knew, I made a mistake since the moment she stepped her feet in my house. But I couldn't leave the woman I loved when she needed me.

"It can be too hot to drink instantly. Try slowly."

I instructed, sitting next to her. I gave her my blanket and towel, so she was now dry, but still shaking from cold.

"You can't catch a cold a day before your wedding, c'mon. "

I massaged her back, as she sneezed. She looked at me, I could see that she was grateful that I still wanted to help her.

A tear ran down her cheek, so I wiped it with my hand. She stared at my actions and slowly leaned for a kiss.

I pushed her on the sofa and started kissing her neck. She moaned and squezzed my shoulders. I felt myself getting hard.

And then, I heard Anubis ramble and I came back to reality.

"Stop, Elizabeth we can't do this! "

" But..."

"Why are you hurting me again? You give me hope and then you'll just come back to him, explaining that your career depends on it. Fuck your career! Fuck it! Fuck you! Get out of my house! "

When the door closed, I called Anubis and hugged him. My tears fell on his back, but I just wanted someone to comfort me.
