Chapter 18: Hospital Hospitality

It's almost five days have passed since the incident, and finally Oner have awakened from his unconsciousness. As he wakes up in the bed, he noticed that he was in a different room. The room is full of white painted wall, curtains and roses. The nurse who has been assigned to look for him saw him awake, and she immediately called the doctor. The doctor came quickly from his room and checked his physical status.

Oner asked the doctor, "Ahm, Doctor. Where am I? Why I am in this room?"

Doctor said from him, "Mr. Ardonawa, you're in St. Luke's Hospital at room 1704. You're in a comma for almost five days. Gladly, you're awake, fine and well. Glad to see you your body temperature, structure, and health conditions were normal."

Oner was shocked when he heard it from the doctor that he slept for more than five days. He doesn't remember anything to make him slept like that.

He asked, "Hey Doc, do you have a patient named Polina? Polina Santos is her full name."

Doctor replied, "Hmm, come to think of it. Maybe yes. But she is already out of the hospital last Wednesday."

"What about the other students?", Oner asked again

The doctor replied while shrugging, "Hmm, they are all fine and they are out of the hospital too."

Oner felt relieved about the news. "Oh, is that so. Glad to hear that. Thank you for the news." And he smiled at him.

"Oh, if you excuse me. I have to check the other patients. Better to call your relatives about the good news. Just ask the nurse if you need something. Goodbye." the doctor said and he left the room. Only Oner and the nurse who seated in the chair while texting someone on her phone is still inside.

"Umm...Miss Nurse, would you like to lend me your cellphone for a moment. I got to call my mother and inform her that I'm awake and fine. Thank you." Oner asked with generosity.

The nurse replied, "Okay, but make it quick. Because I have to reply my boyfriend. There you go." she said from him and she gave her cellphone.

"Oh I see, just give me five minutes. Don't worry your boyfriend can wait. Hehe" Oner said with a smile.

"Okay, I'll leave you now. I'll come back when you're finished. I'll close the door to have you maintain your privacy. By the way, don't call me Miss Nurse. Call me Elisa. Don't forget it okay. Caio." the nurse said from him.

Oner replied, "Okay, thank you again, Miss Elisa. Nice to meet you." The nurse smiled at him and she closed the door gently.

Oner called his mother, and she picked it up.

"Hello, who is this? Where did you get my number?" Mrs. Ardonawa asked

"Hi, mom. It's me, Oner." he greeted her.

Mrs. Ardonawa cried, and she said with full of worried, "Oner, my dear. Are you okay now? How's your health status is it fine? Is your body can move? I hope so. Are you feeling well and not sick? And, and..."

"Hey Mom, stop. Haha, I'm fine. Don't worry about me. The doctor said that my health and physical conditions were all normal. And about that, gladly to hear your voice again, mom. Umm...sorry to keep you worried about me. I became so careless this weekend." Oner said with his face turn to be grief.

Mrs. Ardonawa have stopped to talk. Oner asked, "Mom, are you still there? Hello? Mom, are you okay?" he heard her mother crying. "Mom, please stop crying because your eldest son is stronger than you thought. Pains and wounds in my body are nothing but a piece of cake for me."

"Haha, you're just like your father. Always making fun in this situation. I'm alright now. Thank you son. Okay, I'm going now. I'll coming for you to bring you home. Just wait for me, okay." Mrs. Ardonawa said from him.
