It had rained hard that morning.
So much so, that it appeared the forest would flood within an instant.

As records stated, it was the heaviest rainfall in a half of a century. Gojo thought there'd be no end to it.
Nothing was audible through the pitter patter of the water on the roof. Thunder roared in the distance.

Though, almost as soon as it had started, the rain stopped. Surprisingly, the sky opened up, and a large beam of light shone down upon a large impoverished spot in the forest.
He followed the phenomenon with intention.

Raindrops glistened upon the tall culms of grass as a fawn ran through it impetuously, stopping as if it felt Gojo looking. It stared at him from his high perch on the balcony before sprinting off again.
He caught himself admiring the freedom an animal seemed to have.
To have everything you could ever want, but the ability to denounce your birthright.
To be tormented by the ghosts of your past out of a sense of appropriately placed guilt.
That was nothing short of a curse.

He backed away from the window smoothing his clothes under his trembling palm as he squatted on the floor. He quickly felt himself becoming nauseous.
He had to calm himself down.
It wasn't like this day would never come.
His fathers peers would be there.
To pick him apart.
His fathers advisors would be there.
Turning their noses up at him.
Treating him like an oddity.

There were a couple of soft knocks at the door. Before he could get his words out, he was met with a pair of warm, familiar eyes.
A bit of tension left him.
He threw his head back against the wall to relax as Geto closed the door gently behind him.

"Are you alright?"
He whispered, bending down to check his forehead for a fever. "You don't look so good."

"I'm fine", he replied pulling his collar away from his neck. "Just nervous."
