Arya walked back to the mentor's room, trying to remain her composure, yet still trying to get there quickly, not wanting to miss anything. When she got there, several other mentors were already there, but Arya paid no attention as she sank down onto a chair and glued her eyes to the screen. The clock was already ticking down, with only fifteen more seconds before the bloodbath's gong went off.
She could feel Colton sit down next to her, but didn't even look over, as the gong had finally gone off. Johanna hesitated, but still clumsily jumped in the water. Because of her hesitation, Finnick and Katniss had already gotten ahead of her.
In district 7 we never really had a good water source to practice swimming, so Johanna kept her head above water and splashed along to the Cornucopia.
When she finally got there, the people who had gotten there earlier were already gone, but several other people were still there. Johanna pushed her lips together, and dove for an axe as Enobaria charged after her with a knife. Quickly, however, Johanna grabbed a weapon and swung it at her.
Unfortunately, she missed, so the axe whipped through the air. She readjusted her grip on it, but Cecilia gave a yell, and charged in with a hatchet.
Johanna watched in horror as Enobaria stepped away from Johanna and killed her swiftly. Arya had no clue as to why Cecilia would save Johanna, but maybe for the plan, as Johanna was one of the youngest and fittest in the arena to protect Katniss and Peeta.
Enobaria turned away from Cecilia's body, and back to Johanna, but Johanna already had a running head-start, so Enobaria growled, and walked over to Brutus, Gloss, and Cashmere.
Johanna ran along the spokes to Blight, who was sitting unsure of what to do on the side of his raised platform in the water, and yelled at him. "Come on, let's go!"
Blight looked at her like he was surprised, but Johanna growled and stomped her foot. "I said, let's go!"
Blight pushed himself off the platform, and looked like he thought he was going to sink, but instead the waistband around his waist kept him afloat.
He slowly paddled his way to her, as she impatiently tapped her foot, and gestured for Beetee to swim over to her. As Beetee warily splashed over to her, Arya realized that he was bleeding from a knife in his calf.
Arya narrowed her eyes at the odd choices of allies for the arena, but then realized that Katniss had previously wanted Beetee and Wiress as allies, and empathy had won over her with Blight.
Wiress was still standing on her platform, so Johanna pointed to the shore and said to Blight and Beetee when they got to the spoke that she was standing on, "I'll meet you at the shore. Don't go anywhere when you get there."
Then, she jumped in the water. Johanna wasn't a very strong swimmer, but still she got herself over to Wiress' platform, and grabbed her leg, making her go tumbling into the water. Johanna grabbed her arm, and started swimming back to the shore, making sure that Wiress' head was still above water.
When she got to the shore, she was heavily breathing, but the four odd group of tributes walked into the forest, and the camera angled back to the Cornucopia, where the bloodbath was still going on. Arya let out a breath of relief, knowing that Johanna was most likely the safest in the jungle, and relaxed.
It wasn't until later when they showed Johanna, Blight, Beetee, and Wiress in the forest. The bloodbath was finished, and there were a total of 8 people dead. Unfortunately, all the careers were still alive, but Katniss and Peeta survived.
A liquid started coming down from the sky, so Blight cupped his hands out, thinking it was rain. However, as it began to accumulate in his hands, everyone could see that it was clearly not liquid. It was blood.
Arya began to wonder whose blood it was, but it started picking up, and soon all four of them didn't know where they were going. Obviously, that was a problem, because not knowing where you were going could lead you close to the careers or other enemies, or there could be another problem with the blood rain, you never know, as it's the Quarter Quell.
Beetee and Wiress linked arms so that they wouldn't get separated, and ducked down to the ground, covering their faces with their hands. Blight, however, continued to wander around in circles, but he hit something hard, and was all of a sudden thrown back as a loud noise happened.
When Blight hit the force field, for just a moment, the tropical backdrop turned to black, then flickered back to normal. W
Wireless seemed to notice this, as her eyes lingered on the force field for a couple of seconds, before turning to look at Blight. Johanna stumbled over to Blight, but a canon already sounded. Still, she dropped to her knees, and checked his pulse.
Obviously, he was dead, so Johanna stood back up and yelled. Just screamed, and it was loud, and long.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Beetee stared at her looking very concerned.
Once Johanna was done screaming, she grabbed Beetee and Wireless and yanked them up off the ground, and started dragging them toward the beach. They wandered into an area where it was no longer pouring rain, and Johanna released them and collapsed to the ground in exhaustion.
Wireless began to wander around in circles, muttering "Hickery, dickery dock. The mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck one, the mouse went down. Hickory, dickery, dock..." At one point, Johanna sat up and yelled, "WILL YOU JUST SHUT UP?!"
Wireless was quiet for a moment before continuing. Beete was sitting on the ground, watching the blood slowly trickle out of the wound on his leg, and watching it puddle under him. There were a couple of screams, and so the camera switched back to Katniss, Mags, Finnick, and Peeta as they struggled to get away from the poisonous fog.
Eventually by the time the camera went back to Johanna, Beetee and Wiress, they were already on the beach, and meeting up with Finnick, Peeta, and Katniss.
Finnick and Johanna wrapped their arms around each other, but after they broke apart, Arya noticed that he was flirting with her less than usual, to which Arya had to bite her lip to stop from smiling. Maybe she truly did love Johanna Mason, and one day, one day, it would be acceptable to the public.
