My head hurt, and though my eyes were closed, I could feel a bright light on my face. Then I heard voices. "When she wakes up, follow standard procedure. Figure out her Blaze, but if she seems to remember then kill her. Do you understand?" "Yes ma'am" another voice spoke. Their voices seemed so distant. Were they talking about me?

I flickered open my eyes, adjusting to the light. I looked around; I was in some sort of medical room. The woman standing next to me, who seemed like a nurse, noticed that I was awake and sat next to me. "Hello child, I'm doctor Elvira. How are you feeling?"

I looked at the doctor, confused. My head hurt and I couldn't wrap my head around what was happening, or what the doctor was saying. Elvira spoke softly as she asked, "Do remember your name, child?" I began to understand what the doctor was saying. I shook my head. That was weird, why couldn't I remember my own name?

Elvira smiled, she seemed to be relieved that I couldn't remember. Elvira spoke once again, "From today your name will be Evanora. Welcome Blazer, from today you will no longer be weak or deluded." After checking my vitals, the doctor left the room.

I looked around, taking in my surroundings. The room was large, and I noticed there were a few other kids here as well. I felt scared and confused at the same time. I couldn't remember anything, as if my mind was a clean slate. My head hurt when I tried to even think about my past.

My eyes landed on a boy who was in a see-through, confined cell right beside my bed. He seemed to be a little older than me, maybe by about 4 years. I realized that he was looking back at me; his bluish-gray eyes mirrored the confusion and curiosity that I felt as well. He seemed to be the only one in a cell, while everyone including me, were just in a very uncomfortable bed. He Why did he seem familiar, as if I had seen him before, but if he's in a cell then maybe he's dangerous, I thought.

Suddenly, I was startled by the presence of another strange woman. She seemed intimidating and looked in her mid 30's. "Come on, follow me."

Having no other option, I followed the strange woman out of the room and into the corridor of the building. We reached the door at the end of the corridor, and as the woman opened the door, I felt the cool air hit my skin as I shivered.

I followed the strange woman, as the snow crunched beneath my feet. The night sky above me was filled with the shining lights, giving me a sense of peace. We arrived at another building, smaller than the previous one. As we entered a room in the building, I saw a girl who seemed to be a little younger than me, already sleeping on the top part of a bunk bed.

"Your training will start tomorrow, get some rest, you'll need it." The woman said sternly. I nodded and walked towards the bunk bed. I sat on the bed, which was a lot more comfortable than the one I had woken up on.

"What's your name?" I asked the strange woman as she was about to leave. My voice came out cracked, I felt as if I hadn't talked in ages. The woman stopped at the door and didn't talk for a few seconds. "Ezdeath, my name is Ezdeath," she said in a low voice. "My name is Evelyn," I said politely, though she had never asked. The moment I said that, her eyes widened in shock, but she quickly recomposed herself. "No, from now on your name is Evanora. Don't you forget that." She said sternly. She then left the room, leaving me confused.
