Zhongli's voice calls, "I'm home Unity, I'm sorry about..." I come out of our room making him trail off. He says, "You look great."
"Thanks." I say simply. Zhongli says, "How about I make it up to you, shall we go out for dinner?"
"Sorry, I have a dinner date with someone else." I made sure I used the same tone he used when I tried talking to him these last few weeks he's spent with Ningguang. Zhongli says, "A dinner date?" I hum as I check my hair in a nearby mirror. I hum and say, "Is this a little much for Mao's?"
"Mao's huh?"
"I mean, I already ate at Wanmin, without you."
"I deserve that, but..." He was again interrupted by a knock on the door. I say, "Looks like Childe is here." I walk up and answer it. He says, "You look stunning, I offer these to you, but they might not compare to your beauty." He offers the flowers in his hand. I take them and say, "Thank you, I'll vase these and we can go." As I walk pass Zhongli, he grabs my arm. He whispers, "What are you doing?"
"I already told you what I'm doing." I reply breaking from his grasp. I put the flowers in a vase filled with water. I placed it on an end table. I grab Childe's hand. I ask, "Shall we go?"
"Of course my lady." With that, we walked out the door. As soon as the door closed, I asked, "Did it work?"
"I believe so, you should have seen the look on his face, it looked like he wanted to kill me."
"He probably did." I say feeling heartbroken. He's doing this to me first. By the end of the night, I realized that I really made a mistake. I sigh and say, "I had fun, but I never should have said yes."
"I understand."
"Thank you for trying Childe." I kiss his cheek and entered our house. It won't be for long though. Soon it will be all his.
