"Of course, of course." You mumbled at yourself as you aggressively tried turning on the shower head.

It was only past 6 am, but you have a presentation by 8. The thought that this day was beginning with a failure made you even more agitated.

You got out of the shower with a frown and just headed to the bathroom sink to wash your face. Fortunately, the tap was working so it meant that there's no water disruption around your area. You let out a deep sigh as you patted your damp face with a clean towel. You looked at your reflection in the mirror, lips were kind of pale but your cheeks were pinkish. A little bit of tint would do the work.

"Maybe you should smile a bit more and present yourself a bit better, huh?"

Your frown deepens as you remembered Mr. Lee's words last night. He was talking as if he didn't look like a wasted old man. You glanced at your face again in the mirror, and tried smiling in a friendly way.

"I look like I have an evil plan in mind." You snickered at yourself and just shook your head. You just continued with your morning routine in haste, and tried to forget whatever bullshit that old man had said.

Before leaving the apartment, you made sure to call the landlady and talked to her about the problem with your shower. She said that she'll send a plumber by the time you get home. She complained about the previous staff she had and shared that she employed a new one with a hint of boasting in her voice.

You didn't need to hear her out everytime she overtalks, but she's a kind landlady so you let her rant on you as you walked to the bus stop. You were lucky enough to catch the bus which just stopped as soon as you got there. You smiled at the bus driver politely before quickly sitting by the window, your favorite spot. Sighing in relief, you leaned back on your seat.

"Good morning, chief."

"Mornin', cap. Early again, huh?"

"Got a morning shift in the café."

"Really grinding early, I see."

"Have a nice day, chief."

You were too entertained watching the passing sceneries on the window, which was slightly lulling you back to sleep. You didn't even feel the seat beside you being taken by someone. It was just after 10 minutes of traveling that you noticed that someone was sitting beside you.

Being the unsociable person you were, you just glanced at the leg beside yours. The person was wearing black pants. He was sitting properly, not manspreading with the space he's got, just keeping the comfortable distance away from you. You looked back at the window and leaned your head on the glass.

It was a comfortable position until the bus driver suddenly stepped on the brake.

The side of your head hit the glass window with a thump. You let out a quiet curse as you felt the throbbing on your head. Damn it, I knew it was too comfortable. You heard the driver apologize in the background, but your mind was just too hazy to comprehend anything for now. You grumpily rubbed on the spot on your head that hit the glass and sighed.

"You okay, ma'am?" You heard your seatmate ask in worry. "That sounded...loud."

"I-I'm fine, thanks." Embarrassment was an understatement right now. Your cheeks burned as you thought that everyone in the bus must have heard your head colliding with the glass window.

"You can apply cold compress if it swells or forms a bump." He said with a formal tone, as if he was a doctor prescribing and advising a patient who stupidly bumped on a surface.
