"Where the hell am I?" Kara groaned as she stretched out of her slumber. She checked her phone, which was next to her on her bed, whoever's bed this was. It was 11:17 a.m., Saturday morning. She looked around.
Spencer's room??? Why the hell was she here? She looked down at the floor. Spencer lay in the fetal position, blankets and pillows wrapped around him.
Kara staggered into a standing position and swung her foot.
"Ow! What the hell?" Spencer batted his hand around, trying to hit whatever had just kicked him in the back.
"Wake up, ya little shit," Kara grumbled. She kicked him again.
"Goddamn. Okay, okay." Spencer sat up. "Okay, you've probably got a lot of questions."
"Yeah. No shit."
"Okay. Give me a sec and I'll call Sarah so she can get over here too."
"Who the hell is Sarah? Is she another one of your hoes?" Kara asked, only half-joking.
"No, you idiot. Now shut up."
-----
Sarah was awfully nervous. She stood at the door of the address that Spencer had given her with a grocery bag in her hand. Sarah knocked on the door.
An older woman with frizzy, ash-brown hair opened the door. "Hello? And who are you?"
"Um, I'm Sarah. I'm, um, here to see Spencer-" Sarah picked at the bag in her hand. Suddenly, Spencer appeared at the door and interrupted.
"Oh, uh, Mom, this is Sarah. We're working on a group project. Can we go to my room?" Spencer gave her his best innocent boy smile. Sarah tried not to look at Spencer's mom and instead stared down at the welcome mat that said "Live, Laugh, Love".
"Oh, sure. Sure." Spencer's mother raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything as she left. Sarah followed Spencer to his room.
Sarah sat down next to Kara, who had scrunched herself up with her forehead on the floor. Spencer flopped down next to her.
"Hey, I'm Sarah. I, um, brought you Gatorade." Sarah pulled a red Gatorade out of her bag and set it down next to Kara's head.
"My head hurts," Kara whined.
"Well maybe you shouldn't have drank so much, dumbass. Drink that," Spencer scoffed and handed the red bottle to her. "Literally every time you drink, you always overdo it," He sighed and Kara rolled her eyes.
Sarah and Spencer were quiet and watched in awe as Kara downed the entire 20-ounce bottle at once.
"Okay. So. You. Who are you?" Kara eyed Sarah suspiciously.
"Um, I helped carry you here, and that's kind of it."
"Okay..." Kara turned to Spencer.
"And you. Why the hell am I here?"
Spencer's expression was blank. "Seriously? You don't remember?" Kara blinked. "Nothing? Well, you passed out at the party and we had to carry you here, 'cause what would've happened if your mom saw you drunk?" Kara thought for a moment.
"True. But you couldn't even ask Irina?" Kara asked.
"No, I couldn't. Remember Irina left with Kelly?" Spencer replied.
"No." Kara rolled her eyes. "If I remembered, I wouldn't be asking."
"Do you even remember Kelly?"
" I can't remember anything."
Spencer sighed.
"Okay, well, we have to get you out of here somehow. My mom can not see you here."
Kara stared at Sarah and Spencer. Sarah caught Spencer's eye, who returned her gaze as they both turned to look at the window.
"Okay, um, what if we-" Sarah started and Kara cut her off.
"Oh, hell no."
