Avery miller, known as the big nerd, decides to change her appearance at the start of senior year in order to prevent people from calling her, a nerd and making her crush, Nate Davis notice her. Meanwhile her best friend, Lea keeps forcing her to do voodoo in order to get him to like her.

I walked through the hallway of Jack Greene high and in my head I was moving in slow motion, hair blowing in the wind, everyone pointing in shock at me, but that was in my head, in reality people were bumping into me like I wasn't even there and saying 'watch it'. I mean why weren't they looking, its me, Avery, The big nerd without the braces, without the glasses, looking what I'd call average, why weren't they looking.

"Trust me, it's better this way, at least nobody's gonna call you a nerd again" Lea said as she walked beside me as we went to her locker, She brought out her English textbook, as that was the first class of the day, for both of us, and the only class we had together.

"Yeah. Unless Hannah Hastings has something to say about it" I say as I looked around everyone in the hallway, hoping to find the person that this was all for.

"He's not here yet. and don't let Hannah get to you. she has no power now." Says who. Well, speak of the devil, And she shall appear. Hannah walks in all of her 'glory' in a jean mini skirt, thigh high boots, tank top and a red jacket, She looks like Julia Roberts from pretty woman. Look at her, walking in slow motion, hair blowing in the wind and everyone is actually staring, me included. boy, this sucks.

"Wait a minute, is that Scott?" Lea said with her gaze on the person beside Hannah, yep it was Scott, and they were walking hand in hand, I guess she moves on fast. I turned my gaze back to Lea feeling a lot of sympathy for my friend. She stared at me, then she closed her locker.

"Whatever, we are broken up. he can date whoever he wants. even if it's Hannah Hastings" she said as she walked hurriedly into the ladies room. I was about to go after her when a crowd blocked my view, as they were all too busy looking at the almighty Hannah Hastings. I stood there in the middle of the crowd trying to push my way out, when all of a sudden everybody moved to the side leaving the hallway clear, and I was the only one standing in the middle, I turned around, to find Hannah Hastings standing in front of me. now I get why everybody moved, so the Queen could pass, so much for her loosing power after her break up with Nate.

"Move." was all she said, and move was all I did, as she walked with Scott by her side to her locker which, bummer, was right beside mine. I banged the back of my head lightly on the locker behind me, and I did it up to ten times, and by the time I was done. i looked straight, at the most beautiful brown eyes I'd ever seen staring, gazing right at me and that moment. Holy Shit.

"Hey"

"Hi" was all I could say, he said hey to me, Nate Davis actually said hey to me. was this it? Were my fantasies coming true? Did he finally notice me? Was I gonna be Mrs Avery Davis? I then noticed Lea walk out of the ladies room and came to a quick halt, when she noticed who was in front of him, and in that moment I realized everybody was staring.

"Can you-" this was it, he was finally asking me out.

"Yes" this felt so unreal, a boy I have been I love with since I was a child finally noticed me and asked me out on the spot. uh, what do you know? Guess I actually look better than I thought.

"Great" he said and he still stood and stared at me and I was foolishly smiling at him. I put the I in idiot. he then stared at me in what looked like ...amusement?

"Now?" I asked, confused to why he was still standing in front of me.

"Um ...yes, now." he said as he was smiling broadly, oh God. I could kill for that smile.
