Busy Week

As the weeks went along Olivia and Fitz continued to try to ignore and push whatever they felt for one another aside. Neither one of them wanted acknowledge that these were more than just friendship feelings.

As for Ray he became more focused and determined than ever to raise his grades and prepare for his upcoming basketball tryouts. Ray was only a sophomore, but basketball was his sport and last year he was the only freshman on Varsity and he hoped to make Varsity this year as well.

It was Monday morning and Ray was excited today that he had 1 last exam he had to take and pass to ensure he could tryout for basketball on Tuesday.

The day went by pretty fast at around 6pm, Ray had finished his exam. He knew his teacher Mr. Grant was still there, so he decided to go and let him know what was up.

He walked into Fitz classroom.

R: Hey Coach, I just finished my last exam.
F: Great, I should get the results back late tonight or early tomorrow morning I'll let you the score as soon as I get it.

R: Thanks Coach for everything.
F: That was all you kid, I'm proud of you.

F: So, is your mom picking you up?
R: Well, I was going to catch the late bus, but my test took a little longer than expected.

F: Say less I'll take you home. Just let me finish putting in these grades.

Fitz had dropped off Ray before returning to his home for the night.

What people didn't see at the Grant household were the silent dinners except for the kids talking about their day and Fitz spending most of his time after work avoiding his wife.

But after a long day of dodging his wife he was ready to call it a night. He just wanted to grab some clothes before he headed back the basement. The last time him and his wife shared a room together was probably 2 months ago, but since Olivia came into the picture Fitz avoided his wife more. He couldn't keep Olivia off his mind. But Mellie interrupted his thoughts............

M: I won't be here for Halloween this year. I have a case back home in California. I'll be gone for a week maybe 2.
F: Okay

M: Their costumes I haven't had a chance to get them. And I'll need you to drop me off at the airport tomorrow morning.
F: Okay we'll work it out.

After his wife had left it was around 10 pm Fitz decided it he would text Olivia.

[TEXT MESSAGE FITZ: My wife has a case in California, so she won't be home for Halloween. Costume shopping with the kids?]

[TEXT MESSAGE OLIVIA: Sounds fun just let me know when.]

Fitz's morning was busy. But he accomplished all his task and made it to school just in time.

Fitz set at his desk and nodded Ray over. Fitz looked at his email.

F: Your full name is Rayis Davis Ballard?

Ray: yea short story. My dad signed over all his parental rights so, when I was 6 Jake Adopted me. I was originally Rayis Edison Davis aka RED.

F: Well Rayis Davis Ballard I'm excited to inform you that you have PASSED all your exams. Congratulations kid. I'll see you at tryouts this afternoon.

Thursday came up pretty fast. Fitz was excited, today was the first day of cuts for basketball, so they were getting closer to figuring out this years Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball teams.

He also knew they were going to look for everyone's costumes after practice and he was excited. And he was also maybe excited cause he got to spend time with Olivia.

Olivia had just pulled up to the twins and Emily school.

Ever since Mellie had been away, Olivia had helped Fitz out by picking up his kids and letting them hang out at her place until the end of tryouts.

Fitz would bring Ray home, so it was always worth it and Olivia wouldn't let them leave without dinner.

Olivia had gave the kids a snack and had decided they could eat out tonight since they kids had to go pick out their costumes.

At around 7pm everyone was ready to go shopping the 7 of them loaded into Fitz's truck.

They walked into Walmart first. The kids had a theme they wanted to follow and Fitz and Olivia wouldn't know the theme until tomorrow night when it was time for trick or treating.

Olivia: Okay stay together and we'll see y'all back here in 20 minutes.

The kids walked off together leaving only Fitz and Olivia.

Fitz: I have to go get candy for school and the house would you like to accompany me?

Olivia: of course

As they walked around Olivia and Fitz laughed and took turns sharing glances at one another. When Olivia was with Fitz her smile was non stop. It felt good to smile. She deserved this moment.

The kids went to a few other stores to finish grabbing accessories for their costumes and before they called it a night they enjoyed some amazing pizza.

It was Friday and officially Halloween. School had just got out. Since they were all getting dressed at Olivia's house, Fitz waited for Ray after school.

They pulled into the driveway. The kids were at the door waiting excitedly for them to come in.

Ray: okay first we'd like the parents to go get dressed.

After some waiting both parents emerged
Olivia wore a Wonder Woman costume which she had brought a few weeks ago, on the other hand Fitz wore a Superman costume which was his same costume as last year.

Fitz and Liv laughed at the connection of their outfits.

The kids were pleased with their parents costumes but told them to take a seat as they changed into theirs.

FG: Let's take some pictures while their getting dressed.

Fitz and Olivia took many pictures.

Fitz: Get on my back real quick.

Fitz snapped many photos of the two together. Everything just fit more when it was him and Liv, but he knew he still very much had a wife that would be back soon.

The kids returned.
Emily, Lauren and Morgan dressed as a paramedic, firefighter and a doctor.
Ray and Jeremy dressed as a Teacher and a Lawyer.

Emily: Our theme for this year is not all heroes where capes.

Fitz and Olivia set in awe of The kids costumes.

Lauren: But we made capes for mommy and Fitz.

Morgan: You two tonight will be rocking the wonder mom and super dad capes personally made by us.

Jeremy: Dad we want to thank you for making sure we still had a great Halloween although mom couldn't be here with us this year. And miss Olivia thank you for helping my dad out and watching us.

Ray: Mom thank you for keeping us in bright spirits even though this is our first Halloween without Jake and Coach thank you for taking time to help me out.

The kids handed the capes to Fitz and Olivia. They were excited to put them on. After they took some group photos.
