The sun was already hanging low in the sky as Hu raced on the wind. His two passengers gazed upon the land below in awe, amazed by everything they could see. Glancing up ahead, Gidget squinted at first before yelping, "There! Up ahead, it's the city! I can see it! We're so close now!"
"How are we going to find Norman in a place like that?" Tiberius wondered aloud. The city was huge. It could possibly take forever trying to find one griffin cub in a place like that. Hu let out a soft bellow just then before he turned slightly to the left. "What did he say?" Gidget asked, "Is something wrong?"
"He said he's going to try getting as close to the circus as possible. He doesn't want to be seen by humans but he also doesn't want us wandering around in the city and getting lost," Tiberius translated. Looking down at the land below, he spotted a huge colorful structure a little bit beyond the city's limits. Pointing it out for Gidget, he spoke, "There. That's the circus, it has to be."
Purring softly, Hu swooped down towards the land. In a field beyond the city limits yet close to the circus, he touched down. Allowing Tiberius and Gidget to slide down his back, he meowed softly to them. "He wishes us good luck," Tiberius explained. Bowing her head to the white Chinese dragon, Gidget replied, "Thank you Hu." The dragon nodded his head before taking back into the sky. Watching him leave, Tiberius murmured, "Well, we're here. Let's go get my son."
"Intruders!" a voice shouted. A moment later, Tiberius found himself being tackled to the ground by none other than a white rabbit. His fist ready to start throwing punches, the bunny stated, "You are interfering with a rescue mission!" Kicking the rabbit off of him, Tiberius growled, "No, you're the one interfering with our rescue mission!"
"Snowball, what have I told you about attacking random people and animals?" a new voice questioned. A moment later, the speaker emerged from the field grass. He was a small brown and white dog. Gasping, Gidget exclaimed, "Max?!" His ears perking up at her voice, the other dog answered, "Gidget?!" Recognizing each other, the two dogs rejoiced and hugged one another as they began talking at the same time.
"So the imaginary boyfriend is real? Okay then..." Tiberius mumbled, surprised. Pointing at the griffin accusingly, the rabbit Snowball stated, "You are still interfering with a rescue mission." Growling at the bunny, Tiberius snarled, "Excuse me, I'm trying to save my son Norman."
"Norman?!" Max and Snowball exclaimed. Whacking the rabbit on the back of the head, the dog barked, "Dude, you literally just tackled Norman's dad! Are you crazy?!" Shuffling his foot nervously, Snowball apologized, "Sorry mister..." Turning to her boyfriend, Gidget asked, "Wait, do you guys know Norman?" Nodding his head, Max answered, "Yeah, he's at the circus. But there's a slight problem with getting them out."
"Take us to my son, please," Tiberius insisted. He and Gidget allowed Max and Snowball to lead the way to the circus as people began to arrive for the night's big event.
