No One's POV

"Alright, go."
"Go where-"
"Say the script, idiot."

Dream shot a dirty look at his sarcastic artist pal then looked down at the torn scrap of paper in his hand.
"Oh, h-hey Night- f-f-funny seeing-g you here-" he stuttered out.

Ink cringed. "Dear god for someone who gives speeches in front of millions you have no confidence whatso ever."
"I do have confidence! It's just-..." he thought for a moment. Could it be that Ink is right?

"You have courage."

Dream looked at him sideways. "Don't those correspond with each other?" Ink sighed, slightly disappointed by his friend's naivetes.

"Close but no." he stops leaning on the desk and walks to the center of Dream's office. "Confidence..." he started, putting his hands on his hips. "Is knowing you can do something. Or- at least thinking you can." He adjusts his jacket. "Believing in yourself I guess."

"And courage is actually doing it despite plausible fears." Dream finished for him. "Therefore you'd need to have courage to have confidence.

"HAH!" Ink laughed. "Not in all cases. Take...Finch for example." He removes an ink vial from his pocket and opens it. The dark ink begins to levitate from the small glass capsule and take the shape of a model Finch. "Finch is a good example of courage without a ton of confidence- like you."

The taller scoffed at his friend's mildly rude comparison. No, not because Finch is bad in anyway- nor is he. It's just how Ink had said it.

"Finch is a strong guy. You know that." The ink illustrates the artist's speech.  "He does all this crazy shit along side me. BUT- half the time I have to drag him out there because of the four words I heard from you earlier...

I CAN'T DO IT."

Dream's wings ruffled at the sudden change in volume, a bit startled by the intensity in his words. He didn't dare counteract.

Ink took a breath. He noticed his friend's reaction and attempted to make up for it. "He can do it. He does it. But he doesn't think he can. Where as I- am a great example of confidence with not so much courage..."
"You actually admit a flaw? By yourself?" Dream said sarcastically. "What caused this miracle?"

The artist gave a sarcastic laugh. "SoOo clEvEr. Just run the script- and try to give it more confidence."

Dream cleared his throat then looked back down at the paper. "Can I change a few things- there's a couple of grammatical errors in here that are really bugging me. Plus, this doesn't even sound like something I'd say."
"Whatever, just try and say something without stuttering."

He nods. 'i can do that.'

"Why hello Nightmare. What're you doing here this...evening-?"

Ink smiles slightly, then goes into character. "Hey Dream- I'm just hanging out. You?"
"Merely checking up on you. Say..are you hungry?"
"...kind of-? Why-"
"I'm a bit peckish myself and I was wondering if possibly you'd like to go to dinner with me."

"Haha! There you go! Was it that hard?" The artist exclaims as he gently pats his friend's shoulders, having to stretch a bit to reach.
"Well, I suppose it wasn't as bad as I presumed..."
"Great! Now go do it."

"W h a -"
