y/n grew up in hawkins, but moved away in the summer of 1982. though she was the same age as nancy wheeler and jonathan byers, she hung out with their younger siblings more than she did with them. she was seen as an outcast due to her attire and taste in music, but she couldn't care less because she felt as though she looked pretty cool.
