CHAPTER 24 [A TIME BEFORE DISSOCIATION]

[A Day before Departure]

'If the soul swapping with Kim Rok Soo does not happen... then...' Cale was fidgeting, he wants to talk to Leonier, but he was scared that he might disturb the resting lady. She looks like she's really tired these past few days.

'if I will not be able to go into that world... then...' But these thoughts just won't stop bugging him. It's annoying but he can't do anything about it

"I... won't get to see mother..." Cale mumbled to himself and hug the pillow given to him

Leonier has always seen this child, Cale Henituse, as a strong-willed person. A person who would gladly shout at your face if you even say something mean to his step-brother. "Is there a way to go there... Even just for a little time? " Cale asked, not even attempting to push his head to meet Leonier's eyes

"Is there a reason why you want to go there? " Leonier, who knew all the reasons why, questioned. It was not that he don't want to give this kid a chance, but it was just that she can't let him have false hope. I can't let this child hope for something I'm unsure of

"Well... No... It's nothing... " Cale turned his head to the right a little, but his head was still facing the floor as if it's more interesting than Leonier's pretty face;

Leonier looked at him and smiled. Hopeful that someday, this child would also have his chance

"I'm sure your mother is proud of you" with that, Cale pushed his head up to meet Leonier's warm gaze. It was not a gaze of a friend, nor was it a gaze of a lover. It was a gaze of a mother- no, a gaze of someone who understands him and sympathizes with him. It was warm, but not as warm as his own mother

"Other people may not know your sacrifices, but I'm sure your mother would understand why you did the actions and decisions that you had made" Leonier pat the child's head

"Whatever decision or actions you take, do not regret them. Take them as a lesson, a lesson that you should gain knowledge from. Do not let those wrong decisions that you think you made pull you down"

"Will my mother be happy with how things are right now? " Cale said, tears fearing to fall. He does regret some part of his life before. He did not like how he acted so childish, thinking that acting like a trash would solve everything.

"no" Leonier said which made Cale flinch, it was not cold. It was just her normal voice. But the way she answered so fast just made Cale's heart ache, just a bit

"Your mother will not be happy seeing you suffering like this. But I'm sure she's proud that you protected your step-younger brother and Violan. As well as your younger sister" leonier said and gave Cale a very warm smile

"I see" Cale smiled back. I will not regret what I did. I just did what I had to do... But it was still kind of embarrassing if I think about it now...
