"I still can't get over the fact that you're gonna be gone the whole summer." Paige says, rolling over on my bed to face me.

Paige Bethune has been my best friend since kindergarten when she shared her peanut butter and jelly sandwich with me. Ever since that moment we've been like two peas in a pot.

"Come on, it's just for two months, and then I'll be back and we'll be moving off to Chapel-Hill!" I say, turning around to meet my best friend's face with a giant smile on it.

Paige and I had applied to all of the same colleges, of course. Both of our parents being huge Chapel-Hill fans, we instantly knew that it was the college for us the second we got in.

"God, I can't even put into words how excited I am to leave." She says dramatically falling from her sitting position to flat on the bed.

"Yeah, same." I say, with a laugh.

"Still, you're gonna be gone for two months. Who am I supposed to shop with? Who am I supposed to eat with? Who-"

"Paige!" I say trying to interrupt her, but she pays me no mind as she stands on top of my bed with her arms raised dramatically.

"Who am I supposed to breathe with?"

"Paige!" I say with a giggle, finally getting her to stop.

"What? You're my best friend Hailey, my only friend to be exact. I don't know how you expect me to survive two whole months without you."

"I have an idea!" I say with a gasp, as I run over to her, jumping on to the bed as she flops down.

"Oh God, what is it now?" She says with a roll of her eyes.

I smack her shoulder saying, "No this is a great idea. You come to Cousins for the Fourth of July."

"Oh my God," she says standing up. "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Yes, yes yes yes!"

I let out a laugh as she grabs my hands, pulling me up off the bed.

"That's the best idea you've ever had."

I pull her into a hug, my head resting on her shoulder, as I say with a whisper "I'm gonna miss you so much."

Paige pulls back from the hug, still holding my hands.

"Me too. You're gonna have so much fun. You won't even remember you know who."

"Oh God." I say as I drop her hands, falling back on to the bed. "I almost forgot about Colby for a second."

"Hey," Paige says, dropping onto the bed next to me. "You're gonna go and get absolutely shit faced at some fancy, rich kid's house. And then, you're gonna meet a really hot stranger and then let him bang the absolute shit out of you."

"Absolutely not." I say sitting up. "I'm not gonna spend my summer thinking about boys. At all. Period."

"Period." Paige says with a soft smile, that slowly starts forming into a smirk. "But, if you change your mind..."

I let out a laugh, getting up to finish packing my things.
