Chapter 2: Having him back

"Dad!!!!!!!! You're actually here! Why aren't you in Ireland?"

"I wanted to be here for your birthday! Happy birthday sweetie." He hugged me and I held him tight. This had to be some kind of a dream. If it was I was sure going to take advantage of it. I could not believe what was happening.

"I- I cant even, oh my gosh! I'm so happy that you're here!"

"I missed you Amy. I was really bummed when I found out that I wouldn't be here for your birthday. Then Liam pulled some strings and here I am!"

Liam. Liam is the entire reason I had my dad back for my birthday. I don't know how I'm going to ever be able to thank him. All the presents I got for my birthday were nothing. I had my dad back! That's all I wanted for my birthday and now, thanks to Liam, my one wish came true. My dad and my mom were talking and I could tell that my mom was just as surprised as I was to see dad. I walked over to Liam. He was surrounded by girls signing stuff.

As I walked up to him, he smiled. "Hey Amy happy birthday-" I went and hugged him. I didn't let go either.

"Thank you!"

"What are you thanking me for Amy?" He looked like he had no idea what was going on.

"You brought my dad back to me. I can never thank you enough. Thanks to you, my birthday wish came true. Thank you Liam." I was beginning to cry, but this was the happiest day of my life.

"You're welcome" He replied with a smile on his face

Right after I talked to Liam, all of the boys went to the other side of the pool, and the music started. Were they going to sing another song? Then the popular tune to 'happy birthday' began. Oh my gosh. They were singing me happy birthday!

When they were singing, I was surrounded by my friends laughing and taking it all in. This could not be real. It was way too perfect to be real.

The next four minutes were amazing. The guys and my dad sang happy birthday to me, then sang my faborite song to me, 'A team' i was in heaven. No present in the entire world could beat this.

That night we were all three sitting on the couch wathing a movie when i realized i hadn't opened my dads present yet! I got up from the couch to go get it.

"Where are you going?" My dad asked

"To go get something i forgot to open!"

When i came back my dad smiled then got up himself. He came back a minute later with a tiny box in his hand. He gave it to mom then smiled.

"I know, its Amy's birthday, but i couldn't help myself"

Mom and i both opened our boxes. Inside was a heart locket for mom that had pictures of me and dad in both sides of it. My moms eyes were tearing up.

Next came my box. Inside was a locket in the shape of a microphone. I opened the locket to see one side with a picture of my dad, and the other side with a picture of my mom. It was perfect. My mom and i both hugged my dad at the same time. Best. Birthday. Ever!

I woke up the next morning, with a smile on my face. Why wouldn't i be smiling though? I have my dad back, i had the best birthday ever, and i got the best present ever. I sat up and put my hand on my locket, and began to smile. I was hungry so i sat up to walk downstairs. When i got downstairs, i was overcame with the strong smell of bacon. I could not wait to eat. It smelled so good!
