he's attractive, she can't deny it. he has nice hair, and a pretty smile, overall he's just a nice person. but could she ever see herself doing anything romantic or even sexual with him? no.

the day after their movie date, she laid in her bed, staring at the ceiling, contemplating everything from the night before. the way he drove his car next to her as she unlocked her bike, asking if he could give her a ride home, she declined at first, although he used his charm and his cute little smirk to convince her.

she thought of every movement up to the moment that he placed his hand on her thigh, it slowly pulling up her pant leg from him dragging his hand farther up, but still keeping it far enough down as to not make her too uncomfortable.

she didn't do anything to stop him. she's glad she didn't, it showed her that he wants to make advances, but still respects boundaries and didn't want to do anything right away, on the first day they properly hung out.

after thinking too much about it all, she went out, grabbing her bike and pulling her sweater sleeves down to cover her hands, she rode to the mall, glancing at the parking spot filled with a burgundy BMW that proved steve was here, most likely working behind the counter at scoops ahoy.

after locking up her bike, she pulled headphones out of her ragged tote bag and put them around her neck, walking inside to the mall, packed with teenage couples and middle school girls.

the [your hair color] girl felt out of place sometimes. this was one of those times. watching everyone go about their day, talking to friends and boyfriends and girlfriends, she realized how alone she was. during high school she didn't have many friends either, but now that she lives alone in the apartment her family used to share, she realized just how much more lonely she could be.

but she went on, she walked around a bit, stopping at her favorite clothing store to look at new t-shirts and shorts for the hot summer days. even ending up buying a cute swimsuit, decorated with a light green plaid print, although she doesn't go swimming often, it would be nice to have something.

after more walking and admiring the mall, she felt hot, it had rained during the night, so now the mall was humid and sticky, but the amount of people in it weren't very helpful either.

she went down the escalator once again, looking around at other stores she may have missed earlier that could spark her interest, but found nothing, the only interesting thing she could find was that same ice cream parlor she always went to, the same one that had the pretty girl she has admired since day one.

she walked there, the anticipation of being able to see her and steve was killing her, but the thought of getting ice cream and the cold atmosphere of the store made her even more excited.

so as she went in and caught the eye on steve, he smiled, from the look of the girl who was sitting right next to him on the counter, y/n knew that steve had told her everything from the night before, and y/n couldn't help but notice that the girl looked slightly upset.

but she didn't question it, maybe she just had a bad night, or maybe she even had a crush on steve. the thought of that made
y/n's stomach ache, but why? maybe she was just hungry, was what she told herself.

y/n walked up to the counter, a small smile on her lips as she greeted the brown haired boy, preparing to take her order, but her attention wasn't fully on the menu or steve himself, her eyes would often divert themselves to the girl, robin.

her nametag had the name "robin" written on it, y/n had noticed this the day before when she was meeting steve. what a pretty name.

y/n ordered the same thing she had two days prior to today, after grabbing the cone from steve, their hands brushing together, she sat at the open spot by the entrance, putting her headphones over her ear, but leaving one off to listen to anyone that tries to get her attention.

this went on for two more days. each felt the same, she would wake up, lounge around for a while, go to the mall, and then stay at scoops ahoy for the rest of the day, but on the third day, a friday, it changed and the cycle broke.
