I informed kokomi, and just the way she handles everything so elegantly, carefully, intelligently, she's just amazing... I mean i did catch what she needed me to do but she's just...gorgeous and kind. I dont know what'd i'd do without her.. when things calm down, I will confess to her! I walked out to go check on my companions graves, I offered flowers and incense to their graves and wished them well in the afterlife and that their souls would be content. I stayed there for a bit and roasted a lavendermelon for me and had a few others cooking to offer to their graves.

My family and gang was settled although it was a little small we managed to fit everyone, I was relieved I could finally relax although I wouldn't have admitted things weren't ok being interrogated by a confident/pissed dog-eared general is strangely scary. But i decided to take a quiet walk through the small village, unexpectedly I smelled strong incense burning and lavendermelon roasting and not going to lie but i was starting to get hungry and decided to investigate because I am a heroic individual.
I looked and saw gorou spacing out eating a lavendermelon. Me being my heroic self went to talk to him. "Hey how are you? You seem not yourself from what I know about you unless you're always this depressed looking" he seemed like he snapped back from a trance it was weird.

"H-huh? Sorry I was just thinking. But that's none of your concern, like you implied we barely know eachother so if you could leave me be that would be great" he snarked at me.

"Jeez I just wanted to smooth over our relationship after you shooting me in the stomach, me annoying you, you interrogating me, and me having to immediately settle in a new home. I want to help you." I rubbed my temples and looked at him hoping he would budge, to my surprise he did not. "AUGH, you're impossible!" I flopped on my back.
I heard some giggling, and sat up quickly to see the general had let his guard down and started laughing.

"You're haha— so weird hahaha— if you want me to be open with you hehe—haaaa— i need to get to know you" he held his sides and was laying on his side on the grass with a face that spelled out how much joy he felt laughing at my antics.

"Well I want to get to know you, so I can be of use to you and prove myself to watatsumi island" I eagerly looked at him, he looked back at me a little shocked and rubbed the back of his head, he opened his mouth slightly. I waited for him to say something just anything so the silence wouldn't be louder than it was now. He finally spoke.

"W-well if you want to get to know me, let me start with this.. what are some things you like?"

"I love traveling and saving people, I also love onikabuto battles. Kids are also fun to play with but since my gang was almost always on the run during the vision hunt and sudoku decree I could indulge and in things like that. So what about you?"

"Well I love spending time with my friends especially her excellency, i also love mountain climbing and getting to enjoy the view after finishing climbing. It's a satisfying reward especially when i bring my kamera" he smiled at me talking about his hobbies all i could think about was how cute it was to see him gush about his hobbies but that's anyone. It's nice seeing people gush about the things they love.

"Do you have any pets? All i have are my battle kabutos" i said. He looked at me intrigued and tilted his head then asked.

"What exactly happens in these 'battles'?"

"Two onikabutos are set up on to big boxes to fight dominance until one either gives up or pushes the other off the box, and just so you know if they fall they will be ok they have really hard shells..." we ended up talking for hours until we finally had to leave at sunset. I felt content.

••A week later••

I thought to myself excited, it was valentines day. "Todays the day I'll finally tell her how i feel!!!" I squealed into my pillow. I jumped out of bed and quickly got ready. Not even five minutes later I had my uniform on and had my gift in hand. I sent a letter to her the day prior telling her to meet at the old shrine around sunset. I realized how early it was and decided to just go and relax and indulge myself in festival activities and mountain climbing. Soon enough it was almost time. I rushed to grab my gift and hurriedly made my way to the old shrine. When i got their i was so happy to see her waiting for me.

"You called for me? Because i also have something to tell you but since you reached out first. Tell me, what's on your mind" we sat on the stone I held my gift in hand and took a breath then said.

"Kokomi, I love you I've felt this way for a long time i really hope you'll accept my gift, and so will you be mine?" Kokomi looked shocked and twiddled her fingers, she looked worried and that made me worried.

"Gorou, im really sorry i love you as my bestfriend and coworker but..I'm a lesbian who has a girlfriend and i was hoping to tell you that me a sara we're together..." I looked at her and felt like I had been disemboweled, i could barely say anything but what managed to say was this.

"I'm so sorry.. I hope this doesn't effect our relationship, please at least take my gift—*sniff*—" I was on the verge of tears and just sat there looking at myself.

"Thank you for the gift and I have a feeling you need time to yourself, so take as much as you need" when she left only then did i see there were rain clouds and that it started drizzling, but it was still quiet enough for me to here some footsteps.
