Play; Demons by Alex Benjamin

~

Wonwoo runs through the halls as fast as he can with hot tears streaming down his face.

He can hear the heavy steps on his liver behind him but those steps on motivate him to run faster and for longer.

But Wonwoo doesn't have the best stamina especially against a university athlete which means Mingyu eventually catches up.

Mingyu grabs his wrist and turns his around.

"Let me explain!" Mingyu pants out worry clearly evident in his eyes.

"No! Why did I believe you! You clearly aren't gay! Let alone would like a guy like me! It's fine, I'm not surprised. I don't know why I'm even so hurt." Wonwoo cries as he pants out his words.

"No! I love you Wonwoo." Mingyu says attempting to hug the older.

"No you don't. We both know that's true." Wonwoo resists. His panting suddenly stops and his eyes lose the shine in them.

"No that's no true. Let's me explain." Mingyu says exasperation in his voice. Worry in his head at Wonwoo's sudden calmness.

"Mingyu-ah. Let's just end this here. It's better this way, look at you. You're an university athlete, with a sports scholarship and an average grade of an A and an average test percentage of 95%. Im just a depressed drug addict who sleeps around and drinks away his feeling. We were never meant to work." Wonwoo says blankly.

Mingyu straightens his back, his eyes filling with tears.

"You don't mean that do you." Mingyu desperately whispers grabbing Wonwoo's hand.

"Yes. I do. And I'm sorry." Wonwoo says releasing his wrist and turning away.

Mingyu watches as Wonwoo walks away without hesitation not even sparing him a look.

He sighs as he watches as the male walks away, his tears stream down his face as strangers stare at him in both concern and disgust.

Tears continue to stream down Wonwoo's face as he walks away. He lets out a sigh and a dry chuckle. Why did he even think Mingyu would like him, not when there were hundreds of girls more his type.

As he walks away he remembers a certain
spot he hasn't been to in a while. He decides that it'll be his next stop.

~

As Wonwoo rounds the familiar corner he remembers all the events that have occurred here, both bad and good.

He stares at his previous smoke spot and pitifully chuckles. Getting down on his knees he begins digging at a certain spot.

He digs for 10 minutes, a large whole forming.

"What the fuck? I didn't tell Mingyu." He whispers to himself.

"Yeah, but you told me." He hears a voice call from behind him. He whips his head around and stares at the speaker.

"Vernon.." He sighs. "Just tell me where you put them. Please."

"No. You said you were getting sober, it's been 3 weeks of you being clean. I'm not gonna ruin that." Vernon explains. "Everything you and Mingyu have worked for."

As Mingyu's name exits Vernon's mouth Wonwoo feels rage flow through his veins.

How dare he even assume Mingyu has done any good.

"Yeah, like cheating me Mingyu's worked so hard." Wonwoo laughs.

A confused expressions appears on Vernon's face and Wonwoo notices. He leans against the building and puts his head between his knees.
