I'm Sorry (Part 1)

Doreen's POV

I woke up as usual, but today was kind of different. A high school friend of mine chatted me and asked how I am. Of course, sinagot ko siya, tho mukhang kagabi pa siya nag chat.

My friend immediately replied na gusto niya daw akong makita, at maka-usap in personal. I said yes naman kasi it's been almost 4 years simula nung huli kaming nag kita at nag-usap. And since wala akong klase today, we agreed to meet before lunch at a café near my university.

Fast forward to the meeting time...

"Uy! Here! Doreen!" A deep voice called my name and I immediately knew who it was. "Elliott, hey, it's been a while." I said while I sat across his seat. I raised my hand at may dumating agad na waiter, nag order ako ng coffee and dessert.

"So, what's with the sudden meet up?" I asked and crossed my legs. Tumawa naman siya at sinabing, "You sound so expensive na ah, natira ka lang sa city haha" wow, I felt kind of offended sa statement niya and so I raised my eyebrow at sakto dumating na yung inorder ko.

"Well sorry for sounding so expensive. Anyways, I heard that you and Julia got together? Gaano na kayo katagal?" sabi ko sa kaniya and doon naman siya biglang napatahimik. He smiled sadly and said "Julia and I are now 7 months and counting." Pag sagot niya sa tanong ko. 7 months and counting na sila, so why isn't he happy na tumatagal yung relationship nila?

"I see, but let's go to the main part, why did you want to see me so sudden?" Pag papalit ko ng topic, kasi pag hindi ko pinalitan yung topic, magiging depressing ang mood and ayoko ng ganon.

"Oh! Right, pinapabigay ng mother ko sa'yo, sana daw magustuhan mo. Hindi ko pa nakikita kung ano yan haha" sabay bigay ng isang maliit na box. "Naku! Nag abala pa si tita. Paki sabi na lang na thank you kamo." Sabi ko at tinanggap yung box.

I ate the dessert and drank some of the coffee, and may bigla siyang naisingit habang nag kukwentuhan kami, "You know, lately, I was actually thinking about you."

"You were what? Hoy! Hindi porke't naging crush kita back in elementary gaganyanin mo na ako ah." Pabiro kong sabi. That was really sudden. Elliott was my crush back in elementary but we became friends, nothing more nothing less.

"You do remember the time nung nag confess ka sa akin nung elementary tayo 'di ba? Nasagi lang kasi yun sa isip ko nung nakaraan and I just thought that I missed you." Sabi niya. Wow! Now that is a red flag over there. I know that I am just a friend pero somehow he was still my first love, and you know, first love never dies, eka nila.

"Woah! Easy lang tayo diyan haha baka mamaya fallen ka na pala sa akin ah, may girlfriend ka pa." Sabi ko ng pabiro. Oh gosh mukhang wrong move yung ginawa ko.

"Uhm, can we like, move to another place? So we can have privacy?" Sabi ko na lang and we billed out and went out. And to my surprise, he brought me to the beach. Makulimlim today and mukhang uulan, bakit sa beach pa?

"I love you Doreen and I know mukha akong gago for telling you this habang may girlfriend ako, but I am willing to break up with Julia. Can I court you?" At pag kasabi niya ng mga salitang iyon ay bumuhos ang malakas na ulan. Siguro hindi niya na lang din napigilan, ay hinalikan niya ako.

Shit, first kiss ko.

Wala sa sarili ay hinalikan ko din siya pabalik at ilang sigundo pa ang nakaraan I broke the kiss and said, "I know we are crazy to do this, but yes, you can court me."

Sa tuwa ay niyakap niya ako at kiniss ulit. "Thank you Doreen, thank you! I love you so much." And then another kiss.
