THE THIRD BEER HAD SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA. But now I'm struggling to stand up straight, and keep running into drunk frat boys. I'd stumble forward, run into one, laugh while apologizing, then walk off as if nothing happened.

Partys are the one thing I try to avoid in life. I hate drinking, loud music, and bonfires. But it's the first week of summer on cousins beach, so screw it. I'm officially sixteen years old, soon to be seventeen, I should be able to go out to bonfires and enjoy myself.

But these beers seem to be the one thing preventing me from staying sober all night.

I'm currently sitting in front of the fire finishing my third beer. People keep staring at me confused about where I've come from, but I flip them off and continue drinking my beer.

I don't live in cousins beach, never have never will. My aunt Claire thought it would be a great idea to rent a beach house for Phineas, my annoying brother, and me last summer together. And I thought going to this party would be a good idea because some cute guy asked me to be there.

funny thing is, he isn't even here.

A group of girls walks over to this boy with sandy brown hair laughing. I watch the girls touch his shoulder, brush his hair, and just invade his space. They remind me of these girls I was friends with in middle school. The girl I used to be.

The boy with sandy hair looks away from the girls and at me. he hands the girl on his left his red cup and heads towards me. toward me. I look around me making sure he's looking at me, but when he steps in front of me I notice he was.
