After her classes, Aurora arrived back in her room to a gift laying on her bed. A black box with a red bow tied onto the front. As much as she was intrigued, she opted to shower off the day before opening it up.

She returned to her room with a white towel wrapped around her body and sat with the box on her lap. She tugged on one end and watched as the silk bow undid itself, dropping to the ground.

Inside the box lay a berry blue dress with diamond straps. Aurora placed the box on her bed and held up the dress which touched the floor. A piece of paper lay at the bottom of the box: I thought you should have a dress for the charity event. You'll look splendid in this shade - Mrs Hayes.

Aurora had returned to the school the day after Boxing Day. She hadn't seen Weston in two weeks. When she returned, she spent all her time with Maisie, Noelle and Max. They went into the city, to the beach, to dinner; they even went on a hike much to Aurora's surprise. In England, the weather was mostly cold, damp, and dull but Australia's January was very different.

Tonight was the night of the charity event. Aurora had forgotten all about it until Noelle had mentioned it in a passing conversation between classes. The lightbulb lit in Aurora's head and the next thing she knew, she was sprinting through the school's ground silently pleading that she had a suitable dress in her wardrobe.

All of her panicking was for nothing. She carried on with her normal routine and slipped on the dress. She'd curled her hair and matched her makeup to the dress. The only jewellery she wore was a dainty silver necklace, that lay on her collar bones, and the ring that Weston made for her. Aurora fastened the straps of her heels and picked up her clutch bag.

The Grand Hall was packed with buyers, parents and students.

"Aurora Newton," she shook the hand of yet another potential buyer.

"Mr Laurent," the man smiled back. He seemed to be in his mid-forties. "Did you make all of this yourself?" He gestured to her teacup set.

"With my very own hands, Sir."

"You're a sarcastic one, aren't you?" He let out a little laugh. "Tell me, what do you think of your work?" He observed her.

Aurora twisted the ring on her finger. "Truthfully?"

"Of course. I wouldn't want anything else."

"They're teacups and saucers that I had to make for an art assignment depicting God's beauty. I made them with my hands and according to this school, everyone's made in God's image. God's beauty," she pointed to the teacups. "And I like the process of watching it develop. It's pretty, I guess."

Mr Laurent's brows furrowed. "You don't think your creation is good?"

"It never matters what I think."
