It was almost a situation coming straight out of a teen romance series, you know, the ones that want to seem relatable to teens and actually are.

Charlie was seated Nick's bed with a head of brown and white furr placed sweetly still on his lap, tickling the exposed skin of his ripped jeans as he continued to stroke Nellie's back and play with her floppy ears. His hands moved on their own, he was more focused on the movie playing on the TV the rugby lad had in his room and furthermore trying to forget about how said rugby lad made Charlie feel whenever he was around.

In addition to the way Nick's hair tickled his neck when he reached over Charlie to grab the bowl of popcorn which was currently being refilled.

And the way Charlie's heart fluttered whenever Nick body moved closer to his whenever he shifted to become more comfortable.

And how beautiful Nick's eyes were when Charlie had turned to peer at him and saw the reflection of bright light hitting the brown irises in an angelic hue, painting his brown eyelashes a golden honey colour which made Charlie's cheeks darken.

Charlie was quite aware of Nick's status as his "suppotive straight friend" and was only fond of the alliteration. His new fancy was quick and left him infatuated with the freckled boy as they spent more time together, making him stay away from home more and linger at rugby practice longer.

However he was even faster to understand that friends do just that, spent time together, had fun.

And if Charlie ever messed up the bond they had created over a bold assumption that Nick may like him back, he believed that would be the end of him.

"Tell me why my mum put the Popcorn in the cupboard with the bowls? Like, how am I supposed to find that?" Nick exclaimed, effectively announcing himself as he walked through the door with a popcorn bucket in one arm and two coca cola cans balanced skilfully on top.

Charlie straightened up with a grin, a grin only the Nicholas Nelson could cause. His eyes followed the boy as he placed the drinks onto the bedside table then sat himself next to Charlie, placing the popcorn between them as Nellie stood, stretched and leeped off the bed towards a stray toy thrown carelessly onto the floor.

Charlie noticed how Nick shifted closer yet again, and how their arms brushed together as he opened the bucket between them.

The deep blue skies littered with shy stars peered through the window and caused everything in the room to either become dull or too bright. Shadows of the two seated on the bed danced and flickered across the wall behind them as they shared comments and whispered jokes and laughed gently.

To Charlie, it was good.

As the pair turned again to the screen it showed a couple kissing while the world seemed to burn behind them in a blur.

It was soft yet passionate with tears streaking down the womans face as the man holding her by the waist, clutching onto one another as if they would disappear if they dare separate.

Charlie placed his head on his knees which were pulled up to his chest, watching intently as the night washed over his senses and pulled him into a relax state of mind.

"How romantic," He mumbled in a soft voice.

The music from the screen continued in a powerful blast but soon dulled into a soft hum as they separated, the man begging the woman to look at him but she just sobbed pitifully while looking down at their joined bruised hands.

"I've.." Nick started, causing Charlie to turn his head slightly in his direction, "I've never kissed anyone before."

Charlie doesn't react as his body was still in it's carefree state, his mind processed the words slowly as Nick shifted beside him.

"In movies it's romantic and almost heart stopp(er)ing. It makes your expectations go above and beyond what you would settle for, it makes you want it to be perfect."

Charlie lifted himself and stretched his legs across the bed, turning to look at Nick with a calm gaze in along with a calm expression.

It was all an act.

Charlie was in fact not calm whatsoever.

Nick was sat nonchalantly but Charlie saw how his fingers twitched nervously from their placement next to Charlie's thigh. Nick was looking at him, his gaze passionate and tense but had a glint of hesitation.

"But think about it," Nick has spoke even softer than before, "being just you and them, staring intensely and having that mutual understanding of..'yeah, this is what we want' "

Cerulean blue stared into Chestnut brown, unspoken words so loud and so sharp that it periced their skin and causing them to lean away from the ache, lean closer to each other.

"But there comes a hesitation," Charlie continued entranced by the way Nick's eyes flashed in a weak surprise and flickered downwards to his lips. "Would you enjoy it? Do you want it? Should they do it?"

They were moving, motions slow and smooth.

"If you want it, then so will they.." Eyes darting down to the slim hand placed on his arm, Nick shivered, "Maybe they're ready but scared,"

"Why would they be scared?" A shifting of limbs.

"Maybe they're thinking that they will mess up,"

"I'm sure if they just went for it, everything would work itself out.."

Lips were on his, soft and shaky, hesitant, abrupt and unsure.

All those, but oh so good.

To Charlie, it was good.

After a while, Nick pulled away looking at Charlie with hooded and glazed over eyes, with his cheeks a deep red. His freckled fingers grabbing at Charlies sweater desperately and feverish as he panted.

"Like this?"

Charlie stared at the beauty beneath him. He was now fully pressed against the other with his brown gaze focused on only him, that gaze so hot and passionate Charlie would've fallen off the bed if he wasn't encircled by Nick's presence.

"Like..Like that.." Charlie breathed back, his throat hoarse as he leaned back in. They both has leaned in.

Lips locked more fiercely and confident, arms locked around each other and gasps filling the room as the TV mumbled in the background.

From the way they fell into each other, they way they gripped each other's shirts and the way they were practically glued to each other for the rest of the night it was obvious that there was repressed feelings that was just waiting for the opportunity to come out.

If you asked Charlie the story, he would say it came from nothing. A day or a moment with little to no importance turning to something so special.

Despite how it started of in a boring scenario, no forbidden romance or long lost loves...

To Charlie, it was good.
