"Good evening, sir."

He nodded, returning a greeting as well.

His attention is on the woman next to the woman speaking.

"Here she is. I apologize for the late arrival. We had more than unusual protocols to follow before leaving. But we're here now. If you'd like, please show me her room, and I will leave her in your care."

Gesturing, he allowed the two women into his home, up his staircase, and into the spare bedroom. Setting her things on the lone chair in the room, the woman spoke again,

"Well, try not to forget her. Show her around. Get her used to her daily life, activities, and such. Call if anything or if nothing, but please keep me updated."

The two women hugged as all three left the room and returned to the front door. As she proceeded to go, she left a lasting hug with the woman, reassuring her before bidding the two good night,

"Good evening, you two."

With the door closed, the two faced each other, her watching him more than him.

Following behind the quiet man into the house, she followed him into his bedroom, but she saw that her bag of things wasn't in the corner as the lovely lady had left them there. She looked over to the nice man, but he also wasn't in the room, so she couldn't ask what she wanted to. So she set off in search of her things.

He turned away from the fridge, closing it behind him as he heard the microwave beeping. Gathering his food, he headed upstairs. Plopping the fork and spoon down onto his plate, he looked towards the bed, shocked that he had not only forgotten she was here but furthermore that she had been sitting right next to him this entire time.

"Huh"

He had used the knife to split the food down the middle, turning the plate so that half of the food was facing her. He handed her the fork before he began eating.

"Thank you."

"Mmhmm,"

He nodded as he reached for the remote.
