Chapter 1- Free as a bird

Waking up in a room full of sunshine, opening your eyes with a flutter of excitement is a wish of a lifetime. On Saturday mornings you should be free as a bird. No, but not me.

Exactly one year ago was the best day of my life, But also the worst.

One year ago...

I woke up with delight. Today was my birthday, it finally came. The day Grayson was going to propose to me! I knew that because I caught him in a jewellery store. We've been dating for almost two years now. Even though you probably think i'm lying, He is the love of my life and I couldn't imagine my life without him. My heart aches for him since I first laid eyes on his beautiful doe eyes.

I wore a beautiful tangerine dress and I had my auburn hair in a loose braid.

I was heading to my parents house and when I opened the door everything was dark. That was very strange because my parents PROMISED me they would meet Grayson this time. I should have known better.

I was already heading outside when I heard a million voices shouting SURPRISE!!!

I was flattered, nobody had done something so faboulous in my life. I felt tears welling up but then before I knew it Grayson pulled me into a deep kiss.

- Happy birthday my dear Bianca - he whispered in my ear.

I could feel shivers coming up my spine. This was his seductive side.

I simply nodded and brushed my lips gently, with his.

After awhile we all started playing sharades and I didn't remember how fun this was at winning it! I was laughing hysterically now, I almost tripped over the rug.

Then we cut the cake which, who would have guessed? Vanilla.

I was happily munching on my piece of cake when Grayson took my arms in his and kissed my temple.

- I love you and every part of you, you are the reason i'm still alive. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, how do I put this? Bianca Rosette Richardson, will you marry me? - He said clearly so everyone could hear.

I wanted to say yes, all my life i have pictured this moment. Yes, this is the man I need in my life. Yes, he's the one.

I'm opening my mouth to reply and as I do so, I Inhale his Intoxicating colone.

But this was also the moment that I most dreaded, The moment that everything would change.

Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach, It was horrible! Tears were forming in my crystal blue eyes as I clutched my stomach tightly. I just heard voices, voices coming from Grayson, My parents and the rest of the guests. I started vomiting blood that stained my pale tangerine dress. And before I knew it, everything turned black as I swept in the miserable black hole.
