Fox hasn't talked to me since he left me at the diner without a drive. Aleana had a drive with Greyson and the football team, so I decided to walk home. Saturday and Sunday I stayed home, cooped up in my bedroom, watching The Originals as I waited for Fox to text back, or for him to ask for me to meet him somewhere...but it never happened.
Today was an ordinary Monday. I got up, took a shower, and changed into an outfit I had chosen the night before, skin routine, headed downstairs for breakfast, and headed out the door for school. But arriving at school is when things started to become weird.
Standing at my locker, I hear obnoxiously loud giggling. Turning my head to look over my right shoulder, I see some of the cheerleaders crowded around...Fox. He seemed to be telling them something as he smiles, grinning even. One of the girls seemed to be holding his hand. Turning away I frown. 'Why would he be hanging out with them?' I ask myself, shutting my locker door and heading to my first class.
I take my usual seat at the back right by the window. Putting my bag on the floor, leaning against the leg of the desk, I pull out the materials I needed for English class. Eventually, Fox shows up as the morning bell rings, with the same girl wrapped around his arm. I can't help but feel a little bit jealous...because he is my best friend...and I don't quite understand what I did wrong to the point he would ignore me and find someone else to hang out with.
They both take a seat right in front of me. Fox kisses her cheek softly as she lets out a soft giggle. I pull out my phone texting him "Hey...Want to hang out after school?". After a moment the text message says "Not delivered" and I frown looking down at the floor and letting out a soft sigh.
The whole class I sat there, slumped over with my head down, with my arms covering my eyes I can't see anyone...but really, so they can't see me. Once the bell rings, I wait until the two of them, in front of me leave to get up and pack my things.
I walk out into the hall debating if I should skip my next class, or go and get whatever Mr. Charles has for an assignment, he always has something, and head to the guidance center where I usually spend my time if I'm not sleeping.
Heading into Mr. Brown's office I see Belle. I smile softly as I haven't seen her in a while due to us not having any classes together and her being part of so many clubs and being involved with the school so much she is never free. I make my way over to her, and she turns around to see me, a smile forming on her face.
"Long time no see," she says jogging slightly, opening her arms wide, wrapping them around me engulfing me into a big hug.
I hug back softly, smiling a little, "Yeah...We need to hang out soon" I say softly, giving her a squeeze.
She pulls away eventually and I smile at her, crossing my arms over my chest, "Lunch maybe?" I ask softly.
"Yeah, I usually eat outside, but if you prefer a different that would be fine" Belle smiles as she takes my metal hand "Still in good condition I see," she says grinning.
"Yeah," I say softly looking down at the metal fingers "I fix the wiring every month and use some sort of fluid that helps with rusting" I smile as I look at it.
Belle looks at me with her concerned face "Are you okay?" she asks letting go of my hand and putting it on my shoulder rubbing it a little with her thumb.
I look at her sighing softly. Pulling away, nodding my head "Y-yeah, just need to go talk to Mr.Brown that's all" I mumble, walking away quickly before she can ask any more questions.
