after the writing contest is over (on August 1st, 2022) and this has been judged, this story is going to go through massive edits I don't have time for right now, including the ending being changed completely. I've already deleted the epilogue because I didn't like it, but I am now realizing I don't like the ending, either. so I'll make up something I like a bit more and write that out once this story has been judged.
but, you can feel free to add your input here! if you liked the last chapter and think I should keep it, maybe I'll just make the new version a new chapter so you could still read both. or maybe I'll make it an 'extra', for anyone wondering what the story used to look like.

1. actually, here's one. a bit of context for you: if you're confused on why the character have such strong abilities, it's because the Neverseen tests all their newfound chemicals and potions on their biological and adopted children, because they (the children) are useless otherwise. So they're all freakishly strong with their powers.
2. here's another: I've disregarded a few of the rules of the series (like Sophie being nice) bc I wanted to write her a different personality, and it fit more with my overall story theme. sorry if you don't like it!
ALSO: I always appreciate feedback! if you see a plot hole, grammar mistake, or some phrasing that maybe could be a bit better, please tell me! im not going to get mad or anything--it helps make me a better writer. :)
