Chapter Text
Kaminari? A muffled voice called. Kami-.... KAMINARI!

"Agh! Sorry! Sorry! I'm awake I swear!!"

'This is the fifth time Kaminari, if this keeps happening, I'll have no other choice but to put you in the hole again.' Midoriya spoke, sounding agitated as he did.

"No! I-I mean, I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again."
No matter what torture he'd have to endure while training his quirk, it would always be the better option than going to the hole.

(The Hole: known in the underground as home to the various mutations that roamed the underground. They were called; Nomu.)

Luckily he'd only been sent once and all he had to do was survive one night. Easy right? Wrong, most people didn't even survive an hour. Midoriya had called it training, but it was utter torture. Whatever he faced up here didn't matter, as long as he didn't have to go back to that nightmarish place.

'Alright, get up. I need you to get to a higher voltage today.'

"Yes sir."

*

It had been 2 months since he was taken by the league. And in that time, he'd been tasked with training both his body, mind and quirk. Physical training was relatively easy at first, that is until Midoriya decided he'd start learning to fight by fighting him.

Academics were just as tough, a man named Shaku had taken over as his teacher, his methods of teaching were; 'Get the answers wrong and you go a day without food.'

And on his quirk training, he'd had both Midoriya and a man called Rune to train him. Midoriya was the one to be wary of out of the two. Where Midoriya taught with threats and manipulation, Rune taught with goals and explanations on how to reach them.

So far, he'd gotten pretty good at fighting. His academics could be better but his brain was at the point of forcing the knowledge down on him so that he wouldn't lose another day of food.

And then there was his quirk. At first, every time he activated it, he'd pass out. But as time went on, he was able to gain more and more control. Now he only passed out if the voltage was too high, like now.

Midoriya however didn't seem to like this. Every time he'd pass out, Midoriya would threaten him again and then immediately look up at the camera installed in the ceiling. Every room, hallway and entrance/exit had one. Privacy was a thing not granted very often if at all.

As electricity coursed through his veins, he could feel his limit growing ever closer. Once his limit hit, he'd try to push past it. But as he did, a blinding pain ruptured inside him and he began to scream. It felt as if he was being burned alive from the inside. He'd wanted to quit, but he knew if he did, he'd be sent back to the hole for another night. Not wanting to go back, he pushed even further, the burning sensation only growing as he did. With one final push, a crackling noise was heard, before the entire room exploded with energy. Electricity rolled off him in waves as the entire room was covered in his quirk. He could feel his limit being pushed back once again. He could only maintain this for just a few minutes before his quirk faded away, causing him to collapse in the process.

'Congratulations, Kaminari. You've reached a new voltage. Now, what I want you to train on in the future is maintaining it. We'll work on controlling it later. But for today, go back to your room. Midoriya, help him.' Rune spoke, his soft voice filling the room and bringing a sense of calm to it.

As Midoriya helped him up, he wondered just how far they wanted him to go. Well it wouldn't matter anyway, because no matter how far they would push him, he'd do it. He didn't know when he had decided he'd do whatever Midoriya wanted, all he knew was that he would, and to him that's all that mattered.
