"Mayday! Mayday! This is the Dark Orca, we are taking on water, I repeat, we are taking on water, we need assis..."
"Hello? This is the Arronax, what is your position?" Ant asked,
"I'm going to triangulate their last radio transmission coordinates. It's just our luck that Mum and Dad went off to Professor Fiction's lab to work on a knight." Fontaine said, "Their last known coordinates are about two nautical miles south of here...it's in about 120m of water."
"We'll cover more ground in the knights, I'll take the Shadow Knight you take the Swamp Knight."
Ant Pov:
As soon as Madeline's panicked voice came in over the radio, my heart started thumping. She was in trouble! This was the perfect opportunity to show her how brave I was!
I entered the Shadow Knight and opened the moonpool, as soon as there was an opening big enough for my knight, I jumped through and sped off the the last known coordinates.
"Umm...Fontaine?"
"Yes?"
"The radio transmission perhaps didn't come from this submarine that vaguely looks like the Dark Orca, did it?"
The submarine in front of me could barely be called a submarine, it had a gaping hole where the engines should have been, it was almost as if an entire third of it had disappeared.
I swum around the Dark Orca and saw the Red Claw perched on a rock, half full of water and...Madeline? I immediately swum over and put on my rebreather mask. I gently knocked on the window and she looked up, immediately putting on her scuba and diving gear and opening the canopy to let me in.
"I didn't know if anyone had heard me, the radio signal cut out in the middle."
I took off my rebreather mask, Madeline was crying now,
"My Dad was in the engine when it exploded, we tried everything to get to him...but...we-we couldn't re-reach him..."
Madeline whimpered and I puller her closer, wrapping her in a hug.
"Come on, you can come with me back to the Arronax and we can sort it out there. Fontaine can you pick the Red Claw up? I don't think it's in any condition to go anywhere."
