This is a short story about Ant and Madeline and is the second book I have written. There will be love, drama and action!

I woke up and got dressed and went to check on Maddy, she was still sleeping pretty soundly, I looked her over but wondered if she actually DID like me. Did she like me? Suddenly I wasn't so sure.
Maddy pov:
I went to the kitchen after I woke up, hungry and a little disheveled. I yawned and stretched, life was good on the Arronax compared to The Dark Orca, I didn't have Dad yelling at me to get out of bed and make everyone breakfast. I also didn't have Danny Boy smart mouthing me and making him cheese and bacon sandwiches with raw broccoli. Eugh! Anyway, speaking of breakfast I was hungry. REALLY hungry. Where was Ant? He was usually all over me, fussing about me and joking, laughing and talking about Jeffery.
Twenty Minutes later
I slipped on my rebreather mask and hopped into the moonpool room with a splash. The water was lukewarm and I spotted a school of trout swimming not two metres away from me. Curious I decided to follow them, I turned around and they swam off with me in tow. We went past a giant rocky arch and eventually came to a reef simply teeming with fish of all colours. Suddenly a medium sized submarine with squid arms hoed into view,
"This is A.R.I.A and Alpheus Benthos, you are to come aboard immediately."
I stared in horror at it before making a feeble attempt to swim away. I didn't get far as Alpheus and ARIA swept me into the forward airlock with a whirring sound.
I struggled to my feet as the inevitable happened, Alpheus held a electronic pulse blaster in his hands and I put my hands in the air.
"Welcome aboard ARIA, I trust your stay will be unpleasant?" Alpheus said triumphantly,
"Only if YOU make it so, scumbag!" I retorted tartly,
Alpheus gave me a long stare, that turned into a smile again quickly,
"What were you again? First class? Second? Economy? Business? Oh wait, you're in the storage locker. Follow me." Alpheus commanded sarcastically.
I looked around at the storage room Alpheus had put me in, I turned on my distress beacon on my wrist communicator, hopefully someone would see it. Wait. There was an air-vent? I went over to it. Locked. Now what?
Meanwhile on the Arronax...
Ant pov:
I was watching a Kaiju Daiju movie, when all of a sudden Mum called out,
"We've got a distress signal from Maddy, she's about two kilometres northwest!"
I leaped to my feet and raced to the moonpool and the Shadow Knight. I put it into stealth mode and slipped out of the currently moving submarine.

I pushed my Knight to the limit to reach Maddy as fast as I possibly could. Warning lights flashed and the suit began to overheat. I checked my speed... one hundred and fifty kilometres and hour! I saw Alpheus sub beginning to back out of the reef, I went over and disable both sets of Jets so they wouldn't go anywhere. I cut a hole in the hull using my laser and slipped into a storage room next to the bulkhead. I heard a banging noise coming from a storage room. Maddy? My heart began to beat faster and faster and I opened the door and Maddy stared at me in shock, before racing over to hug me. I didn't doubt she didn't love me anymore. Suddenly Alpheus appeared with a little robot that looked really mean in tow behind him.
"Ant Nekton. What a surprise, I think you'll be joining Maddy in this little storage room."
"Never in a million years Alpheus! That's cruel caging a human in a storage chamber!"
I launched myself at him, my hand swinging back for a punch, I wasn't going down without a fight, I would protect Maddy no matter what. I punched Alpheus in his chest and heard a small faint crack but nothing more, I reeled away a second later as Alpheus swung a stinging blow to my cheek. All of a sudden the robot rammed me into the storage chamber and a second later it used it's two front legs to violently push Maddy back into the storage compartment, I caught her as she fell, unconscious.
!End of potential violence!
"Maddy? Maddy! Do you hear me?" I looked down at her still form, and stroked her hair. She slowly and painfully opened her eyes and refocused them.
"We're trapped." She whispered,
I smiled and held up the key to the lock on the air vent, her eyes widened with surprise,
"Where did you get that?" she asked,
"When I punched Alpheus, I punched but also grabbed and he had a bunch of keys on him, unfortunately I only managed to get the air vent key. " I said as I unlocked it, "There's an entrance a little further down, and we can escape in the Shadow Knight, although it might be a bit of a squish."
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Maddy whispered,
"Wait." I said,as I jammed the handle with a broom.
