Marcanne: The Ballroom

Marcy's POV:

I was getting ready for the ball later tonight. King Andrias was hosting a ball for something about Newtopia and it's history. Me and Anne had gone on a date prior and I had planned on asking her to the ball. I was excited, I put on my dress and clipped on my fake tarantula hair-bun thingy.

It sounds gross at first but it's really not that bad if you don't think about it that much. As soon as I finished getting  ready I left and wondered the streets of Newtopia. I pretty much knew Newtopia like the back of my hand. I mean I had been living here for two months, all my missions and quests got me pretty familiar with my surroundings.

I stopped at a store that sold souvenirs and other stuff, like flowers, tea, pottery. All that fancy-schmancy stuff for couples. I mean it's not like I'm saying Anne and I are a couple I'm just getting her a gift because that's what... friends you go on dates with do. I browsed around for awhile and found a butterfly-flowery thingy. It was a cup and it had flowers and butterflies.

I thought about how Anne had that butterfly ornament for her mom and so I wanted to get it for her. Surprise, I got it! Well it's not THAT much of a surprise but oh well. I also got a dagger with herons on it for Sash. She was also going to the ball, or atleast I think she was. I didn't want to just get Anne a gift so I got her one too!

It was almost time for the ball, I was in that store for almost an hour! I walked around with my bag until it was 30 minutes before the ball. I walked to Anne's hotel and to my surprise when I opened the door Sasha was with her. They both looked beautiful. Anne was wearing a white suit and Bow-tie. Sasha was wearing a suit with her shoulder pad. Her hair was down and she had a flower on her chest. I sat down next to them.

M: We'll we gotta get going, where's the Planatars?

A: They're actually already at the ball, hop pop let me stay to wait for Sasha and you.

M: So Sash, where's Grime at?

S: He didn't come with me, I don't know why though.

M: We'll then, come on guys let's go!

I held both my hands out and smiled. Sasha and Anne both grabbed hold of my hand.

-Time skip-

We arrived at the ball. I was excited to see all of Newtopia. I looked over at Anne, she was looking around. She looked sort of dazed. The Newtopian ballroom was pretty elegant so I understood her shock. I looked over and saw Sasha was gone. I began to worry when suddenly Anne tapped on my shoulder. I looked over and she was smiling at me.

My heart skips a beat whenever I see her smile. Sorry, got a little sidetrack there!  Anne and I walked around and talked to some fellow newts and salamanders. Olivia and Yunan had come together. They were wearing matching outfits. Yunan was wearing a suit and Olivia was wearing a dress. Me and Anne walked over to them.

M: Hey Olivia!

O: Hello Marcy, who do you have with you?

M: Anne!

A:Hi!

O&Y: Hello.

M: What are you and Yunan doing?

Y: Were watching over everyone to make sure no one tries any funny buisness.

A: Why, has the king requested you to?

O: Yep, you guys better go. The king might see and get mad were talking instead of watching.

M: Ok, see you later. Bye Olivia, bye Yunan!

Y&O: Bye!

Me and Anne walked around for a bit. We found Sasha. She was leaned against a wall. She was looking around anxiously like she was in touble or something. She jolted once I tapped on her shoulder.

M: What are you doing?

S: N-nothing. Guys I got to go. I'll... see you later.

A: Awe, so soon.

M: Well, We'll see you later!

S: Bye.

A&M: Bye!

Sasha walked away and out of the castel. 'that was weird' I thought as me and Anne sat down.

A: So, about our date.

M: What, did you not like it?

A: No it was a great first date. I was just wondering if maybe you wanted to... go out again some time?

My face lit up. I smiled widely and my eyes lit up with glee. ANNE BOONCHUY ASKING ME MARCY WU ON ANOTHER DATE?! AHHHHHH! Ok calm down Marcy you got this!

M: YES! I mean uhm, yes of course I'd love to!

A: Really?

M: Mhm!

Me and Anne smiled at eachother flustered. I hugged them and put my head into their shoulder. They smiled and hugged me back. My stomach grew with butterflies. It felt surreal that Anne felt the same way about me. I stood up and reached my hand out.

M: Would you like to dance?

Anne smiled at me and grabbed my hand.

A: Of course!

I smiled at her and walked with her to the dance floor. The ballroom was filled with a romantic ballad. I put my arms on Anne's waist. She put her arms on my shoulders. We swayed with the music. I felt nervous. Anne looked stunning. Once the song ended after 4 minutes me and Anne walked to where the Plantars were.

A: Sprig!

S: Anne!

They hugged eachother and soon started talking. I walked over to hop pop. He was trying to stop Polly from hitting a kid who had bumped into her. 'I better leave them be' I thought and walked away. Anne and Sprig were still talking. They were talking about what they were gonna do for the remaining days they had in Newtopia.

I talked to them about what they could do for the remaining time. Soon everyone went silent as the king came out. He announced that everyone would have to leave and the Ball was over. Me and Anne looked at eachother.

She smiled at me. I smiled back. We hugged and I waved goodbye. I went to walk away but then I felt a tug at my arms. I looked over, It was Anne.

M: Yes?

A: I forgot to give you something.

She pulled out a green flower pot decorated with blue and pink coral. I smiled as she handed me it.

A: I found this in wartwood, I thought you might like it.

M: Awe Anne! I got you something too!

I pulled out the flower-butterfly cup I had found. I handed Anne the cup. She looked at it in awe. I felt nervous.

A: Thanks mar-mar, I have one more thing for you.

M: What is it?

She leaned in and kissed my cheek. My face turned bright red. I felt my ears and cheeks start to burn. I looked at Anne in shock who was also very flustered. She ran off to meet up with the Plantars. I stood there in shock. Anne kissed me, ME! Well she didn't kiss me on the lips but you know what I mean.

I heard footsteps come up from behind me. I turned around and saw king Andrias walking up to me.

K-AN: Hey kiddo, what you doing here all alone?

M: Nothing, just refelcting.

K-AN: Why? Did something happen?

M: No, no. I just had an amazing night! Thanks Andrias.

K-AN: No problem kiddo.

I hugged him. He felt like a father figure to me. I smiled and walked back up to my room. I changed and re-played what had just happened in my head. I layed down. I was restless for almost an hour maybe two. I soon closed my eyes, and went to sleep.
