Alone
before midnight
the night surrounds me.
The stillness of the halls
like the shadows on the walls.
Outside
the moon shines
and the prospect is tempting.
To be free in the dark
a creature with a heart of silver.
Yearning
and wanting
the sense of mystery pulls me;
be hidden and concealed
by secrets revealed.
Escaping
and breaking
the bonds of daylight that trap thee.
Creeping through the unknown.
Silence and danger is my home.
Skies
already blackening
a time of relief and fright.
I broke the glass window
and escaped into the night.
