Your mother writes you, worried sick as she insists that she will come as soon as she can. You write her back, telling her that you're fine and not to come, giving her a story about getting injured in Flying class. There's not much she can do by coming anyways and you'd hate for her to see you like this. Besides, between Severus and the twins, you have enough support to get you through it without putting your mother through a strenuous journey and trouble with missing work. After 2 more days in the hospital, you are finally discharged. A nurse tells you how lucky you are to be healing so quickly. Yeah, you sure feel lucky. Severus insists that he'll come to pick you up, but classes don't end until 3:30, so you wait in the lobby, reading the latest Daily Prophet. Nothing about you or the Sullivans or an assault at Hogwarts. Your hands shake and cold sweat creeps onto your forehead. It's been like this for the past couple days and you know what it is because you've gone through it many times before. Withdrawl. Those fucking pills. The hospital drugs. You wipe your brow with your sleeve and grab your shaky hand tight, frustrated that it won't steady.

You see a figure come through the doors of the hospital out of the corner of your eye. Severus walks in and waves at you, smiling. You watch him in slow motion. He's so beautiful when he smiles. He's been so gentle and kind to you these past few days and it makes your heart throb for him. You wish it didn't take you almost dying for you two to finally reconcile, but if that's the silver lining to this whole thing, you'd say it was worth it. You stand and walk out with him, gazing at his sharp jawline as you walk side by side. You try to grip the car's door handle, an action you've never had to think of before until now. Your hand is shaking profusely now, and it's like you can't grip it. You feel Severus's eyes behind you watching you struggle, and it causes blood to shoot up to your cheeks in embarrassment and frustration.

"Here, I've got it." He says understandingly, a small pep in his voice, but a worried sadness in his eyes. You get into the car, shoving your hands in the pockets of your hoodie. You feel faint and irritable, trying desperately to silently deal with your withdrawal symptoms and hide them from him. Then, you think you're hallucinating again as the car lifts off the ground and starts flying. You quickly grip the top handle of the car, nervously, as you look down out the window. Big mistake. Snape chuckles. He puts a hand on your shoulder to reassure you.

"What? Never been in a car before?" he scoffs, amused at your reaction.

"Not a fucking flying one!" you panic.

After a few minutes you adjust to the air and start to relax. It actually becomes quite pleasant, especially with Severus next to you. Your gaze drifts to his face, his handsome side profile. You lose yourself in the waves of his soft black hair, his sharp jawline, and the curvature of his nose. You don't even realize you're staring until he turns towards you. You immediately turn away, but he caught you looking at him.

He smirks. "What?" he asks.

"What?" you reply, acting like you don't know.

"Am I that handsome?" he jokes in a monotone voice, trying to tease you.

"Yes." You immediately reply, your face and tone equally serious.

His face drops at your sharp honesty. He straightens his back and clears his throat, shifting at the involuntary heat rushing to his cheeks.

"Shoot!" you exclaim, slightly startling him.

"What, what is it?" He asks.

"Please tell me someone's been feeding Whodini!"

"Who?" he says, confused.

"My owl!" you panic.

"Oh, I believe the Webb twins are taking care of it now. They'll be happy to see you. They've been pestering me all week about you." He says.
